??Did you know??? One of the biggest misconceptions about the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP), is that we’re a large, publicly funded organization. The reality couldn’t be further from the truth. ICRP is a?charity (UK Registered Charity 1166304)?with a global team of just?five paid employees. That’s right—our reach and impact in radiological protection around the world is made possible by the dedication of?400+ volunteer experts. These are passionate professionals from across the globe, contributing their expertise to safeguard public health, all without compensation. But here’s the challenge: for ICRP to keep advancing the future of radiological protection, we need?broader support from organizations worldwide. The science of radiological protection relies on sustainable contributions, not monumental funding. I often say we’d rather have 100 organizations contribute $1 each than one organization give $100 (though we’d welcome both!). This collective support, large or small, fuels our work and helps sustain the essential research and guidance we provide.
