Our Site Manager Manager Detlef Lemoine shares the key data on the lifting of the sewage sludge dryers in our project #VERA ???? The dryers are one of the main components of a sludge incineration plant. In the VERA II project they are also the heaviest single lifting units in our plant construction work. With an annual sludge throughput of approximately 76,000 tonnes of dry matter, we are building the largest sewage sludge incineration plant in Germany for our client HAMBURG WASSER. In addition, the expansion has the potential to increase the sludge throughput to 97,000 tonnes per year. This would result in a 50% increase in energy yield ???? ?? Maintaining feed pipe systems in existing exposed sites is already challenging with maintenance and repair costs increased in more exposed sites, not to mention the high costs of interruptions to feeding. The team led by Rowan Paton: Advanced Composite Structures Australia | ACS-A along with Griffith University, Pacific ESI, Tassal Group and University of Tasmania aimed to better understand the dynamics of feed pipes systems, and to develop solutions to make aspects of the system more robust. Being able to reliably and economically operate salmon farms in more exposed waters will be a considerable advantage for the Tasmanian salmon industry. Last week, I attended the SPE Workshop: Holistic Approaches to Understanding Water Management, Injection, Production, and Disposal in a Low Carbon Economy. I presented the integrated approach being implemented at PRIO regarding Produced Water management in Mature Fields. The work, developed with my colleague Aryanne Martins, is titled "Increasing Oil Production by Integrating Water Management Solutions in Brown Fields: A Case Study." This study highlights the necessity of improving the quality of injection water to avoid issues related to injectivity impairment in injection wells and to ensure operational safety while honoring geomechanical restrictions. Our research, which addressed the problem from both reservoir and topsides perspectives, demonstrated that combined solutions could enhance the performance of acid stimulation and chemical treatments. I would like to thank my supervisor, Richard Douglas Moreira, for encouraging me to present our work and share with other operating companies facing similar challenges the ways we are mitigating these effects while increasing oil production throughout our revitalization plans.
