Opportunities to study Medicine in the UK???? ???? Did you know that you could apply for a graduate entry Medicine degree? ?? Graduate Entry Medicine is a pathway for graduates and degree-holders who want to study Medicine. The programme is accelerated, so it usually takes 4 years to complete, instead of the 5 or 6 years that Undergraduate Medicine courses take. You maybe considering this option if you always wanted to study medicine but didn’t have the opportunity to study it as an undergraduate course or if you’d like to switch careers and become a medical doctor ???? In one of my recent videos, I invited a special guest who has covered everything from the application process to helpful tips, drawing from her own experience and insights gained along the way. I understand the challenges and uncertainties that come with pursuing a career in medicine. That's why I'm passionate about sharing knowledge and resources to support others on this rewarding journey. If you or someone you know is considering graduate entry medicine, be sure to check out the video by clicking the link below and feel free to reach out with any questions or thoughts. #MedEd #GraduateEntryMedicine #CareerChange #MedicalSchoolJourney #mastersinmedicine #linkedinopportunities https://lnkd.in/eAbrNb8E

I started my doctoral degree program on May 5th, 2024, and it is hard to believe that eight weeks have flown by so quickly. I've completed my first course, NR 715 Scientific Underpinnings, and it has been a truly enriching experience. Doing a literature review can be cumbersome, but I learned a lot from this challenge. I derived immense joy from every moment I spent studying. This course taught me valuable knowledge and skills, particularly enhancing my critical appraisal and literature synthesis skills. These skills will help me stay updated on nursing research and practice developments. I also now understand better the importance of considering contextual factors and stakeholder engagement and interventions that are patient-centered and practical.

As the deadline for UCAS medicine application (15th October) draws closer, a few last minute calls for support with the application come in. Some are just starting with the application and the personal statement and want to perfect it in this short span while others are coming for a free advice on the choice of universities. In both cases, my answer is a polite no. I do not know how others see this but this is what I explain to the students. Medicine application needs tremendous effort and planning. Students who are serious about pursuing medicine as a profession, start working towards it 2-3 years in advance. It is not just that they need to show their shadowing and volunteering experiences in the personal statement but also because these experiences help them get the clarity that medicine is what they want to do. In such a situation, a last minute application most likely will be a weak one and the student may not get any interview offers for such a competitive program. So I advise them to look for an alternate undergraduate program or take a gap year to explore the field and also strengthen their application. If they still feel that medicine is their calling, they can apply with a stronger application. For those applying after the undergraduate degree, graduate entry route is also available in the UK. As for those who come for free advice for the choice of universities, I politely highlight that UCAS only allows 4 medicine applications and thus this needs to be a well thought out plan based on several factors. To identify these universities requires detailed information about the student and the analysis requires time and expertise. Therefore, if they need expert advise, they should be willing to pay for it as well.?? What is your take on such requests? #collegecounselors #UCASmedicineapplications #internationaluniversities #UKuniversities
