Let’s reflect on last week’s Protein PACT Summit hosted by the Meat Institute—where we joined other leaders driving sustainability across the animal protein value chain. The Protein PACT is encouraging all members to meet science-based emissions reduction goals by 2030. While there are plenty of levers to decarbonize meat supply chains across Scopes 1, 2, and 3, a core challenge around credible impact measurement remains, especially for land-based mitigation strategies. Ryan Jones spoke on a panel with Dwane Roth and Banks Baker on The Changing Landscape of Supply Chain Impacts, discussing how Indigo Ag can support companies throughout their net zero journeys. 1?? Indigo Ag has welcomed the publication of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission guidance on the listing of voluntary carbon credit derivative contracts, particularly for its emphasis on high-quality credits. Although these contracts represent a very small portion of volume in the carbon market, the CFTC guidance helps catalyze the move to standardization in that space. It therefore is an important step in the overall move towards carbon market maturity. Even for bilateral trades, it's helpful to have these official sources of guidance that companies can reference. Fortunately, Indigo's credits align very well with the CFTC guidance on high quality!
