A few days ago, I had a little discussion with a new friend of mine. While discussing, we realized that there's one similar trait between us and that's how passionate we are towards agriculture. We shared some challenges we've faced in the field of agriculture and how we were able to navigate through. Our dreams, visions and how we want to impact lives through Agriculture. We also talked about how we want the agricultural sector to stand out and things that motivate us more, why and what we love in agriculture. I'll encourage you in whatever field or sector you find yourself, try to stand out and make a great impact there. There are so many things to do in your field of endeavor. #agriculture #FutureOfAgriculture #precisionfarming #eyiaclassic

Many of you know the old 'Partridge in a Pear Tree' song (sorry about the earworm). We are presenting our very own spring-summer riff on this classic, the "25 Days of Groundcover FAQs." Here we go with our answer to the fundamental Day 1 Question. Please give us your take on our answer! ANSWER: Because you want to improve soil conservation and water quality by implementing cover cropping on your land (or on more of your land) but lack the time/resources to do this via annual cover crops. Fundamentally, we believe that well-developed perennial groundcover can provide critical ecosystem services at a lower cost than annual cover cropping and, in some settings, even generate economic returns. An additional useful perennial groundcover resource is this article by RegenPGC Co-Project Directors Scott Flynn and Ken Moore. Flynn, Ernest S.,?Kenneth J. Moore, Jeremy W. Singer & Kendall R. Lamkey. (2013). Evaluation of grass and legume species as perennial ground covers in maize production.?Crop Science,?53, 611–620.?https://lnkd.in/dRf5Hggb USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture Iowa State University Iowa State University - College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
