I 3d printed some COPPER at EOS! https://lnkd.in/gXdDHF2N David Tobin and I visited EOS in Texas to learn about their M290 and how it's 1KW upgrade allows it to print copper. Fully dense copper! Plus, we had TWO JOELS on screen! That was Joel Sam! You're going to LOVE seeing this RAPID + TCT in Detroit this year!
The real marvel in *any* metal additives printer technology is still the impossible geometries that you can '3D print'. 5 axis CNC tooling *still* cannot match the detailed parts that can be created. Materials are catching up quickly and will continue to break the limitations. EOS is doing this with both specialized equipment and materials. Imagine if you could have your resin printer do this. Spoiler alert: SOON. ??
Looks like a coil for inductive heat treatment.
Having been around copper for years with original 400 watt systems, this 1kw really kicks it into high gear. The M290 is already the gold standard for LPBF and this raises it further.
??????
great to see!
great to see!
Joel Telling welcome to the #PAPR* club. *The air is so much cleaner here ??
No kidding!! That’s seriously awesome! Scott Frank look what Joel Telling just did! Go figure we were talking about this only a few days ago!

5 天前It'd be really great to understand the cost of these sorts of prints (and machines) as well as medium, and what sorts of applications and volumes would be profitable to deploy this technology! I would imagine the product would have to be a fairly technical piece or very high volume for this to be profitable?
