It is wednesday and time for the next part of the Dr defence video. Here is the first part of definitions. In this part I define complexity and complicated. It is grounded in the cynefin framework by Dave Snowden. Complexity is gaining more attention and the work of Snowden can be explored in more detail in their institute The Cynefin Company. The other definitions are Sensemaking, Sensebreaking and Sensegiving. These are defined by research articles. Especially sensemaking is a topic with a lot of research on it. The source I started from was by Karl Weick and his book "Sensemaking in Organizations". Definitions are tricky as there are often multiple ones. These are to explain how I have used them in this thesis. After the posts of the defence, I will dig a bit more deeply into some aspects of the thesis and spend more time researching them. Building on over 30 years of research, the USAARL MATB enhances the traditional MATB framework with subtask variations, dynamic demand transitions, and performance-driven adaptive automation handoffs. These innovations enable more distinct studies in cognitive workload assessment, performance modeling, and trust in automation. As an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Warfighter Performance Faculty Fellow, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with exceptional researchers at USAARL (Dr. Jon Vogl), Tennessee State University Dr. Charles McCurry, and?Goldbelt Frontier (J.
