Advent calendars have become synonymous with the holiday season, but they often offer short-term enjoyment and get thrown away before the year ends. One way to make your holidays more meaningful is to instead purchase a sustainable Advent calendar, which are often reusable, recyclable, and made with the planet’s best intentions in mind. It can be difficult to find a reputable, sustainable Advent calendar, so we had to ask: What are the most sustainable Advent calendars in 2024? ?? https://lnkd.in/gdUCpet6 Impactful Ninja, 24guteTaten e.V., Advent of Change, Moo Free Chocolates, Blue Goose Coffee, Greener Beauty Ltd, Pukka Herbs, Adventsome, Love Cocoa | B Corp, PLAYIN CHOC LTD #sustainableliving #adventcalendars #advent #christmas #sustainablechristmas

?? Happy Earth Day! ?? How will you celebrate? Not sure? Below are some ideas. Plant Native Species: The single most important factor in successfully gardening with native plants is to choose plants that naturally occur in your area. Go on hikes, visit your local botanical gardens, find out what your neighbors are growing to find plants that naturally grow in your area. Planting trees, flowers, or shrubs native to your region can help support local wildlife, conserve water, and reduce maintenance. Go Plastic-Free for the Day: Challenge yourself to avoid using single-use plastics for the entire day (or week!). This will help bring awareness to how much you rely on plastic and encourage you to find sustainable alternatives. Participate in a Local Clean-Up: Join a community clean-up event in your area, such as at a park, beach, or along a river. This is a direct way to help reduce pollution and enhance the natural beauty of your surroundings. Support Eco-Friendly Businesses: Make a purchase from a local or online business that uses sustainable practices or offers eco-friendly products. Supporting these businesses helps the economy and encourages more companies to consider sustainability in their operations. Take a Walk in Nature: One thing you can do for yourself and the planet is to take a walk in nature. Even if you live in an ‘urban jungle’ getting outside and feeling the sun on your skin or sloshing through puddles is a great way to connect and appreciate our planet. This not only allows you to connect with nature but also provides physical and mental health benefits. While you walk or sit and enjoy, consider the following: Observe and Appreciate: Take the time to observe the wildlife and the diverse plant life. Appreciating nature's intricate details will deepen your connection to the environment and may also help you feel connected to something greater than yourself. Leave No Trace: Ensure that you do not contribute to pollution or even pick up any trash you might see. Reflect on Your Impact: Use this time to think about your personal impact on the environment and consider ways you could improve your habits to be more eco-friendly. What are some ways you celebrate Earth Day? What are some suggestions for small changes that make a big difference? #earthday2024 #sustainablepractice #coaching

I miss the simple joy of planting trees as a kid, Do you? Hey everyone, ?? Remember when we were kids, planting saplings in our backyard was the highlight of the day? We'd nurture them, water them, and watch them grow with wide-eyed wonder. It was simple, pure, and filled with an unadulterated love for Mother Earth. ?? Somewhere along the way, life got busy. We got swept up in the hustle and bustle, and maybe even a little greedy. We lost touch with that innocent child who cherished every tree, every blade of grass. But it's not too late to rekindle that passion. It's time to bring back the joy of planting trees, of nurturing life, of giving back to the Earth that gives us so much. ?? Let's make it fun! Turn it into a team-building activity. Ditch the cubicles for a day and get your hands dirty in the soil. Planting trees together can create a sense of community and purpose. It's a reminder that we're all in this together. ?? Here are a few more simple steps to reignite your love for the environment: ?? Make it personal: Adopt a tree in your neighborhood and watch it flourish. ?? Green your workspace: Add some plants to your desk or office. They'll boost your mood and purify the air. ?? Choose sustainable products: Opt for eco-friendly alternatives whenever possible. ?? Conserve water: Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth, fix leaks, and water your plants wisely. ?? Reduce, reuse, recycle: It's not just a slogan, it's a lifestyle! Together, we can make a difference. Let's awaken the child within us and rediscover the joy of protecting our planet. Happy World Environment Day ?? #earthday #worldenvironmentday2024 #planttree #sustainability #greenliving #memories #saveearth #sagarmahat

Earth Day Today we celebrate Earth Day. A day to emphasize the importance of protecting the environment and the importance of our planetary health. ? What are some things you can do for our environment and the health of our Earth? *Turn off the lights when you leave the room. *Recycle- do you have a recycling program that picks up from your home or place of business? *Use green cleaning products that reduce the toxins in our air. Need suggestions? DM me “green cleaning”. *Bring your own re-usable bags to shop and save their bags and some money. (Some states now charge for bags at the stores). *Connect to Nature- I’m leading a Forest Bathing Hike This Friday in SLC, Utah. Want to know more? DM me “nature”. *Eat leftovers when you have them. Plan for lunch, a snack or dinner the next day. *Start composting with your scraps. *Buy local or reduce the footprint of the foods and products you buy, as you can. Think about how far your avocado traveled to be in your home? ? *Eat more fresh produce and less foods out of a box. (your gut will be happier as well) *Learn more about companies and their sustainability plans. What are your favorite companies doing to reduce their waste? *Take a shorter shower. While it feels good to “hang out in there” some days, our water is a precious commodity. *Speaking of water- can you collect rainwater and use it in your garden or lawn? Check with your local communities- do they have an educational program to learn more? Do they have restrictions on the size of container that you can collect water? *Can you create a xeriscape landscape on your property? We are so grateful for a Marine buddy that is a landscape architect and helped us design this for our front yard. *Plant a tree or bush in your own yard. My husband and I planted a cherry bush several years ago to celebrate our anniversary. That bush just flowered this week and it reminds us of our love for each other. Sappy- maybe? But, a good idea. *Carry a reusable stainless steel or glass water bottle/container. Use the water refilling stations with your container. *Volunteer for a local clean-up day. Or help a neighbor that has limited mobility to clean up their yard. Heck, maybe just clean up your own yard. *Combine your errands and reduce the number of trips you take in the car. *Can you walk or ride a bike to your errands?? Maybe use public transportation, if safe in your area. ? What are your Favorite Earth Day Activities? ? How do you make Earth Day an everyday awareness? ? Drop your comments below.

PLANT TREES TO GROW PEOPLE! PLANT TREES FOR A SAFER, SUSTAINABLE & MORE BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW! From the early days of Typhoon Yagi, many people questioned why storms and natural disasters are becoming more frequent and causing increasingly catastrophic damage. When the storm swept through Hanoi, people talked about the sacrifice of 17,000 green trees that helped reduce the loss of lives and property in the city. Many also mentioned the role of the mountains surrounding the capital, which helped dissipate the storm within just six hours... All these factors are related to the fact that humans have destroyed forests, cut down, and mistreated too many green trees in the city. The Earth is getting hotter. Rivers are eroding. The consequences are numerous, especially with more frequent and severe storms and floods! From my early days working in environmental protection in Central Vietnam in 2000-2001, to founding Nhà Ch?ng L? (Flood-Proof House) in 2013, and then H?nh Phúc Xanh (Green Happiness) in 2018, I have always longed to do something sustainable and proactive to help communities change their perception of the role of Nature and the Environment in human life. I wish for people to cherish the invaluable gifts Mother Nature provides—from the air we breathe, to clean water, food, and raw materials that serve our lives—things we assume are always available, limitless, and unconditional. The S?ng Foundation, established in 2018, greatly helped us in raising funds from businesses and organizations, instead of relying only on private donors, art auctions, or crowdfunding on social media. I began thinking about using my knowledge, experience, and relationships to invest in building a product brand that spreads the message of cherishing Nature and encourages users to give back to Nature. ALL PROFITS from the brand will be dedicated to efforts to plant, nurture, and protect green trees in developing countries, starting with my homeland—Vietnam. In 2019, I collaborated with leading fragrance experts and perfumers in Europe to establish a company in Switzerland, initially called UCC Switzerland (later UCC Europe), launching the niche perfume brand Jillian Switzerland. This perfume brand encapsulates 21 years of knowledge and relationships in distributing fragrances for renowned brands, my expertise and personal experience in brand building, and my 24-year passion for initiatives that protect the environment and ensure a safe life for communities... ????
