The point I was making a few days ago is that LLMs and other generative models are impressive and have nice applications, but they do not significantly contribute to achieving real-world AGI. The 'Attention is All You Need' paper led to these cool applications that have absorbed a lot of talent and funding. However, I believe this focus has slowed progress toward true AGI. As resources are funneled into LLMs and generative models, it will delay AGI research by almost a decade, especially once these technologies are no longer trending. https://lnkd.in/e5PxESFM
