Saga. Is. Back. Fans have been clamoring for this return and Brian K Vaughan & Fiona Staples are delivering! Select praise for?Saga: “The kind of comic that you get when truly talented superstar creators are given the freedom to produce their dream comic…Saga is Heavy Metal eclecticism synthesized into a singular, sprawling narrative à la Cerberus or The Walking Dead—a vast sandbox built for never ending castle-building.” — Entertainment Weekly “An unwieldy, profane, and glorious ode to compassion and equality… a sprawling tale that shuffles the beats of numerous genres, including pulp romance, road trip, Western, dark comedy, and political thriller.” — The Atlantic “There are two kinds of people in this world: Those who are reading Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples amazing adult sci fi/fantasy Image comic?Saga, and those who haven’t yet. The former people are leading happier, fuller lives, because Saga is amaaaaaazzzing.” — io9/Gizmodo.com “The humanity that BKV imbues on his characters is rich and relatable, and the danger that surrounds them is fierce and ever present.” — IGN Entertainment

For those who are interested, this is an unfinished piece of production art for the upcoming cover of my bonus mini-comic — HOLY GHOST EXORCIST #1. That’s right, the sin-killing, devil-stomping, glory-hallelujah-shouting, Maxwell House Coffee Co drinking, 1970’s Pentecostal Holiness couple Rev. Jackie & Penny Noble (shown on this cover) are back & they will no longer be bound to the confines of my Southern Gothic masterpiece of a novel — HOLY GHOST EXORCIST, but instead will be a proud (yet humble) addition to my world of comics. More specifically, this issue will be included on the reverse-side/flip-side of HELLFIRE #2, along with plenty of other goodies that I’ll talk about more as these HELLFIRE comic books & the bonus content within them progresses. Essentially, these comics are intending to bring it outrageously hard. Why? ‘Cause quite frankly I want them to be valued at so much more than anyone would pay for them that it’d almost feel compulsory for people to buy, read, & collect them. *I mean, hey, I’m an indie creator who is teaming-up/partnering with some & paying others out of pocket. I’m really pushing for the upcoming HELLFIRE comics to be successful, cause I kinda need them to be.

HELL DARKNESS #1 // BOOM! Studios short review by: B. L. Blankenship There is so much that I can say on this anthology being a comic book writer, & a notable indie author within the sub genre of Extreme Horror/Splatterpunk. Interestingly enough, the very first comic script that I ever wrote for an artist (outside of myself to illustrate) was for a horror anthology. It was an open submission (which is a nightmare, 'cause you get drown in submissions. They were paying the people $20 per page. I found someone online who'd told me that they'd illustrate, letter, & ink b&w pages for $10 each. Ergo, I wrote a 10 page script, which they passed on & it became bonus content in my Victorian/Confederate Syfy Serial – Abraham Lincoln Burns in Hell Vol. 2. The name of that was "Long Black Train." Short horror stories within comics have a few objectives & this book showcases those well. Some of these stories erupt into a 6 page gore fest & others try to build tension/excitement & end with a "To Be Continued" – thereby luring people into buying the next issue. While that mini-comic that I made years back was a boy meets monster, boy runs from monster, & finally boy evades monster story – these all have their own sense of unique charm & style as well. Presumably, while James Tynion's unwinding serialized tale that follows SIKTC's Erica Slaughter will serve as the main driving point of this series – Garth Ennis also has a story that devolves into an apocalyptic tale regarding international intrigue, warfare, and apocalyptic global violence. Beyond those are short-lived one-and-done tales of terror that fit the SplatterPunk community quite well. The art styles vary – in a good way. They showcase a lot of different tastes and talents. Artistically, my favorite story was the one written by Garth Ennis; llustrated by: Becky Cloonan; Colors by: Tamra Bonvillain; Letters by: Patrick Brosseau; Edited by: Bryce Carlson. My favorite stand alone short story's storyline was Written by: Jude Ellison S. Doyle; Illustrated by: Letzia Cadonici; Colors by: Alessandro Santoro; Letters by: Becca Carey; Edited by: Allyson Gronowitz. ...And with all of that said, collectively the story that I'd put out in front ahead of them all is SIKTC: A MONSTER HUNTER WALKS INTO A BAR – PART ONE. Written by: James Tynion; Illustrated by: Werther Dell'Edera; Colors by: Miquel Muetro; Lettered by: AndWorld Design; Editors: Maya Bollinger, Ramiro Portnoy, & Eric Harburn. ADVISORY: This book is filled with gory deaths, excessive bloodshed, some body horror, some male on male sexual content– in a way that is visually tame, & the consumption of alcohol. This was an extremely easy read – up until the final story (by: Garth Ennis) that was conversationally heavy. I might also add, that while I liked the illustrations of his story the best – it was my least favorite story in the book (lest anyone wonders). This was an interesting read. =)

VAMPIRELLA VS. THE SUPERPOWERS #1-6 // Dynamite Entertainment (short review by: B. L. Blankenship) As those of y'all who frequently read my reviews know –?I read & reviewed the 1st issue of this a short while back. Plenty of other comics were read/reviewed in between. I just finished reading the rest of these over the past few days. This is a series that gets better and more amped up the further you go into it. Certain supers from various Earths are on this planet in 1948 to stop a villain who is selling drugs that give people super powers. It just keeps getting more explosive and nefarious. Quite frankly, it is totally worth the read. You may also note that Rebeca Puebla did 4 of the 6 covers. I just kinda grabbed what I grabbed for the other two. Those were to honor her brilliance in art. It's kinda wild that I loved this, BATMAN FIRST KNIGHT #1-3, & WESLEY DODDS SANDMAN #1-6. All of those are set in this same time period. While I attribute a lot of it to the writing, art, and such –?I do prefer more antiquated things as opposed to the modern age. My upcoming, dark, violent, seedy comic series (i.e. HELLFIRE) will take place in the 1970s. Anyway, this is good stuff. I will tell you that I only have SANDMAN MYSTERY THEATRE that is left unread in my review stack. I was trying to go through them all before grabbing more comics. I'm eying a few things by some indie authors. I'm also thinking about getting Image Comics' AIN'T NO GRAVE #2 – 'cause the first one was so cool. There are also a few BOOM! Studios titles that I feel gently lured towards – within the SIKTC franchise. I'm also thinking of snatching up some Gail Simone stuff 'cause she's sweet. Thus concludes this review. ...for those of y'all keeping track that is 62 comics reviewed (total) here on LinkedIn.

Mistborn Era 2 Movies Would Have A Huge Advantage Over The Original Trilogy A Mistborn movie could change the game when it comes to fantasy adaptations, but Era 2 would be far easier to bring to the screen than the original trilogy. An adaptation of Brandon Sanderson's books has been in development for a while now, and it's unclear if the Mistborn movie is even happening at this point. If it does go forward, there will be numerous challenges to bringing Mistborn to the big screen. This is true of both series under Sanderson's Mistborn umbrella, but it's especially the case for the original trilogy. https://lnkd.in/g8SMPmrs

Comics have always been my passion. They have also played a big part in molding me. DC & Marvel are much like my childhood buddies. Batman & Spider-Man were no strangers. But they weren't easily available in India, then. In my childhood days, I exchanged comics at schools under the nose of the strictest teachers. I read comics keeping them within my textbooks and workbooks while studying. I remember, when the teachers ordered that we bring no comics to school, I would exchange them hidden within the book covers. One day the old lady sitting on her second-floor house’s balcony watching the birds on a tree saw the exchange of books between me on the third floor and my pal Prashant on the first floor by polyethylene and lots of threads (Reason: My mom had gone out, so the door was locked to prevent me from opening the doors to unknown strangers). I also remember it like yesterday that egoistic feeling when I got my first JLA which had Superman in his electrifying suit, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter all in one team while my pal from whom I exchanged had only Superman, Batman, the Flash, Green Lantern solos or a Superman/Batman team up. After that, my passion grew as time crept by. In time, I befriended a canny Benjy, who also alighted at my stop, and after a few talks and comic exchanges. Later I befriended gorgeous Dhwani, via QuizUp challenges. It’s over three decades since I started collecting selected comics from various houses like DC, Marvel, Top Cow, etc., etc. I named my collection Pandora, synonymously rhyming Pandora for comic collection. Be it mine, his, hers, yours, or theirs, another word for comic collection is Pandora. After my dance with Death, I got many ordered. Later, when I went to Canada, I got loads of comics and graphic novels, which had to be shipped separately when I returned to India. Then there are a few uncles and friends, who get books for me that are not easily available or gift them on my b’days. Even in my one ex-company, I introduced a comic-esque concept, and now it’s going cool with a different take and under different experts. Anyway, now am launching my website where I’ll share everything I know about comics, with help from some of my close onez. As a tribute to Canada for helping me expand my Pandora, I officially launch the site on Canada Day. I’m a writer, but I want to spread the love of comics to every corner of the world. Some people consider comics useless, but in fact comics simplify a story, they explain the stuff readily, and they help you to kill boredom and improve your language. Events like Comic-Con boost that up, and with this site, I plan to spread the knowledge and ideas of comics to everyone in need. I’m ultrasupercalifragilisticexpialidociously happy that I’m able to repay the comicverse by playing a tiny part in spreading the knowledge and love of comics. So, with this, I officially announce the launch of my website: https://p4pandora.com.

So excited about the return of Saga!
