In response to the wildfires in LA County, the UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Institute released a data brief revealing the unique vulnerabilities of Latino neighborhoods and underserved populations, which remain largely underreported. *ONE HEALTH Update 313* *Human-Wolf Conflict* Addressing human-wild-life conflict, particularly in context of the wolf attacks, requires a multifaceted approach. Public awareness is crucial to help understand wolf behaviour and reduce communities' fears. Effective habitat management can ensure wolves have sufficient natural prey, reducing likelihood of their venturing into human settlements Encouraging vigilance and quick communication networks can further reduce risks. Monitoring and research are crucial to predict and prevent conflicts. Including local communities in conservation efforts fosters a sense of ownership and responsibility. All these strategies will reduce wolf-human conflicts, helping avoid Bahraich-like incidents. We’re thrilled to announce a new publication in GeoHealth: “Air Quality Monitoring and the Safety of Farmworkers in Wildfire Mandatory Evacuation Zones” In Sonoma County, California, the increasing frequency and severity of wildfires pose significant health risks, particularly to farmworkers who labor outdoors. This study examines the impact of wildfire smoke on farmworkers and offers key insights: ?? Farmworkers face high levels of pollution, with air quality varying significantly across different monitors. ?? Current policies for farmworker safety during wildfires are inconsistent and insufficient. ?? Enhanced air quality monitoring, improved safety policies, and greater support for affected workers are essential.
