????With the busiest time of the year approaching, I think of my fellow retail workers bracing for exhausting, chaotic days on the frontline. Team effectiveness is therefore crucial, especially with the upcoming holiday season. Lacerenza et al. (2018) identify team leadership as key to team effectiveness, discussing shared leadership, embedded in transformational leadership, which empowers individuals to lead when needed. Furthermore, research suggests that shared leadership is positively linked to better work engagement thus better productivity (Klasmeier & Rowold, 2021). ?? Shared leadership motivates employees by involving them in the company’s success. Participation from everyone in decision-making brings diverse ideas, stimulates innovation, and can even lead to new, more successful sales strategies. ?? Retail workers often feel at the bottom of the chain. The role of our environment in shaping our habits is quite significant! Our surroundings have a powerful influence on our behaviors and routines. Our environment provides cues and triggers that can either support or hinder the development of our habits. For example, if you have a habit of snacking on unhealthy foods, having those foods readily available in your kitchen can make it harder to resist the temptation. On the other hand, if you surround yourself with nutritious snacks, it becomes easier to make healthier choices. So, it's important to create an environment that aligns with the habits you want to cultivate.
