UNESCO recently released the new annual Global Education Monitoring (GEM) report, which focuses on the vital role of educational leaders in shaping the future of schools and communities. Launched on 31 October at an event in Fortaleza, Brazil, the 2024 report highlights the importance of identifying, training and supporting individuals with the necessary skills and vision for leadership positions.? ? Our students participated in the Queensland Future School Leaders Program, designed in collaboration with Asia Education Foundation to support and empower those interested in cultivating leadership skills and aspiring to become future leaders. The programme included four online sessions where participants collaborated with peers from across the Asia-Pacific region, collectively addressing and resolving school-based challenges. Students developed prototypes from waste material aimed at tackling the specific issues they encountered within their schools.
