How many times does an Offshore container get checked and double checked physically and administratively before getting placed onto the vessel deck? 'The administrative effort required is tremendous and the amount of man hours is criminal particularly when we still don’t get it right, it's simply not scalable and there must be a better way?' Last week I was talking with a Drilling Manager and his Performance team, we were discussing the challenges of tracking the validity of drilling equipment sent to the rig and the need for a better 'single source of truth' system. The days of emailing documentation, relying on someone to save all the versions of said document to sharepoint and then hoping that all stakeholders - Drilling Logistics Coordinator, Supplybase team, Lifting Supervisor, 3rd Party inspector and eventually Offshore crew all have the latest version based on an email trail is at best an unacceptable weak link. Answer: Digitalization continues to streamline and reduce the administrative burden however the logistics supply chain still requires a high-level of discipline to check & double check the offshore containers, ensuring all supporting documentation is validated. - Today it's common practice to validate all documentation prior to the Offshore container arriving at the supply base, the difference using Kabal is that the User simply reviews all the documentation centrally in the system and communicates back to the Vendor from within the system. - Internal & External 3rd Parties have access to the platform and are contractually required to maintain the latest information in the system and thus providing real-time visibility across the supply chain. - The system tracks the number of non-compliance cases and late deliveries by the vendors as part of the standard KPI's, providing that much needed 'single source of truth', and utilizing big data to deliver continuous improvement. #offshoredrilling #oilandgas #offshoreexploration #offshorejobs #offshorelife #offshorelogistics #supplychainmanagement #kaballogisticsq

Some critical safety aspects in my daily routine include: 1. Regular Equipment Inspections: Ensuring that all mechanical systems are regularly inspected and maintained is key to preventing unexpected failures, which could jeopardize both the crew and the mission. 2. Communication and Coordination: Effective communication with the bridge, the crew, and other departments is crucial, especially when operating dynamic positioning systems or conducting high-risk maintenance tasks. Clear coordination helps to avoid misunderstandings that could lead to incidents. 3. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wearing the correct PPE at all times is non-negotiable.
