iA American recently sponsored the Northwood University Auto Show Gala, successfully raising funds for student scholarships in their automotive programs. Christina Salmon, an iA American Account Executive and NU alum, served as one of the chairs for this year's gala and brought along some of her fellow iA American reps. The event raised over $1.5 million for the Town & Campus Scholarship and Alumni Legacy Scholarship funds! #iAAmerican #Scholarships

Many of CISA's underrepresented students in humanities and interdisciplinary studies majors require financial assistance to finish their degrees. Whether it's money to help with books, housing, tuition, research or pursuing unpaid internships — your generosity can make a meaningful impact on our students, setting them up for success for years to come. Your donation, of any amount, will be matched up to $15,000 in additional student support and bring us even closer to endowing CISA's Interdisciplinary Humanities Scholarship, enabling us to offer it every semester in perpetuity! All funds will be deposited with the ASU Foundation for A New American University, a nonprofit organization that exists to support Arizona State University \(ASU\). Gifts in support of ASU are subject to foundation policies and fees. In the event that funds raised reach $25,000, gifts will be permanently endowed. Your gift may be considered a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of charitable contributions. Congratulations to Perfect Putt and Jared Doerfler on reaching 10k subscribers! The newsletter focuses on the money and business of golf. 5 things that stood out from my experience as a research assistant: 1. In 2023, Off-course golf participation (Topgolf, simulator bars, etc.) increased by 19%, while On-course participation decreased by 8%. 2. From 2020 to 2022 —?Female participation grew 15%, while male participation grew 2%. 3. Golf had a direct economic impact of?$102 billion?in the United States —?an increase of 20% from 2016. 4. Golf has a supply-demand issue: Course supply has shrunk each of the last 18 years. However, total rounds have increased by nearly 100 million in the last four years. 5. Covid was able to bump golf rounds back to the?Tiger Boom?— two decades later. Industry Recommendations ??You should follow everything the National Golf Foundation puts out. ??Every golf course should purchase Noteefy ??. The golf boom also equals record-high cancelations. Noteefy helps courses recover hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. ??There is not enough capital being deployed in the golf industry. Old Tom Ventures Club is changing that. ? Passionate alumni are vital for mid-major college golf programs' survival amid changes in college athletics. Title IX may lead to program cuts nationwide. It's unfortunate, but college golf needs to live in reality. Let's get creative and raise money. Happy to connect and flush out ideas. See Attached. ? Finally, if you like money and golf, subscribe to Perfect Putt For students: I got this job by offering value to a separate mentor, John Nucci. A cold email inquiring about golf topics he couldn't research led him to tag me on a viral job post. My resume alone wouldn't have secured the opportunity; a reference did. The best mentors offer opportunities. A newsletter story about the innovative team at Grass Clippings led to a personal NIL consulting opportunity with their high-stakes par three golf league, the Grass League. Thousands of fans attended to watch amateurs compete, with many more catching the broadcast on Bleacher Report, TBS, and HBO Max. Stay tuned for their next event in December. Offer value. Send cold emails and DMs. Shoot your shot.
I stumbled upon an interesting development in college golf. And it isn’t coming from the powerhouses - or even a major conference. Eastern Michigan University is investing millions of dollars to compete. Here is what they have going on: Eastern Michigan University has 16,000 students and is located between Ann Arbor and Detroit in Ypsilanti. Their endowment is ~$95 million dollars. The lowest in the MAC conference. For context - Eastern Michigan's neighbor to the west in Ann Arbor has an endowment of ~$18 billion. But an individual has a vision. A vision to transform Eastern Michigan. His name is Keith Stone - an Eastern Michigan Alum. Keith sold his company for over $600 million and is now making a significant impact on the University. His non-profit has donated tens of millions. ? $2 million to faculty-led research ? $2 million to students in 2020 ? $5 million to the College of Engineering In total, he has donated over $14 million to the golf programs. $8 million for a golf facility - the GameAbove Performance Center. And recently, a $6.5 million pledge to the golf programs. Eastern went out and hired two new coaches too. They hired Josh Brewer on the women's side - who was at Georgia. He won 19 team team events at Georgia. On the men's side, they hired Andy Walker - who was at VCU. I personally can't get enough of a mid-major going all in on golf. P.S. - Eastern Michigan's facility is incredible.

This is the approach I have been advocating for some months. This is a matter for the whole education sector and there are state schools concerned by the lack of of modelling that lies behind the declared policy. We need a collaborative and unified approach. State schools fear the loss of great partnerships with independent schools and the prospect of being swamped when already under resourced Where is this leadership comming from. We should not allow this disruption and threat to choice. #HMC #isa #ISC #Education #Headteachers #MAT #IED #Charity #Partnershipstogether

To get us through hump day, let’s have another shiny ???NEW RELEASE??? - and this one is a little bit different… Most of the time, our work is focused - with entirely good reason - on driving admissions.?The Independent Education sector is a sales business in no small part, and could be about to become even more so.?Nevertheless, a huge amount of work goes in across the country to raise funds to allow schools to do even more than they currently do, especially for the communities around them.?This is an example of our work in the world of fundraising and development, but still with that Affixxius twist. In this instance, we were approached by the truly wonderful Emma Garrett, DL (and her team) at Eastbourne College to help them promote and raise funds for their equally wonderful Blue Skies Bursaries campaign.?This campaign is based on an endowment that is able to generate fully funded bursaries for exceptional young people who would benefit from an Eastbourne College education - and very few wouldn’t.?This is pure philanthropy - often coming from those within the EC community - to generously give to those who don’t have the means.?If you don’t see beauty and joy in that you’re a little odd.?Or a Labour politician. The end result is something of which - if I may be so sinful - I am very proud.?We have based the film on an analogy.?I won’t give too much away because I want you to watch the film, but it involves strong coffee, feisty Italians, and the humblest possible form of giving.?The wonderful "Caffè Sospeso". It is beautifully shot, skilfully edited, and wonderfully performed by the young people of Eastbourne College. If you are a #fundraiser, if you work in #development or #advancement, please watch this film.?We are turning our hands to any and all elements of the business of education and we would love to explore more wonderful projects like the Blue Skies Bursaries Appeal.?I’m sure there are many more. Thanks also has to go to Tom Lawson, as well as to Liz Silvester and Helen Medlycott for huge support in pulling off this very ambitious, but incredibly received, piece of film. Enjoy! What can you do with $1 a day?? A $30 monthly donation?(just $1 a day)?is enough to help one student at a time learn the job skills they need to work for a brighter future.? We’re constantly dreaming of the day when?Guinea-Bissau will be completely transformed. Not from outside aid. Not from one-time handouts. But from the inside out! The only way that will happen is by investing in the next generation of the country’s leaders. In fact, our goal is for WAVS vocational schools to eventually train 1% of everyone in their 20s in Guinea-Bissau. Every single year. And along the way, each and every one of these students will hear about God’s love for them and His plan for their lives. Every day we meet young men and women in Guinea-Bissau who want to learn new skills so they can work for a brighter future. We’re betting all-in that they can do it! And today, we're asking you to come alongside them to help them achieve those goals. Would you consider sponsoring a student? As a One Student member, it takes $30 a month to sponsor one student at a time. And if you join by the end of August, a generous donor will sponsor an additional student through a four-month job course! Learn more at wavschools.org/one-student.? #sponsorastudent #skillsforsuccess #nonprofit #educationmatters #westafrica

?? The Power of a Mustard Seed, ACE Scholarships, and the Significance of Father’s Day As we celebrate Father’s Day, I'm reminded of the incredible role fathers play in nurturing the dreams and aspirations of their children. Much like a mustard seed, the smallest of all seeds, can grow into the largest of garden plants, so too can a small act of generosity grow into a life-changing opportunity. At ACE Scholarships we believe in the transformative power of educational choice. Each scholarship we provide is like a tiny mustard seed, filled with the potential to flourish into something magnificent. These scholarships enable children to attend schools that best fit their needs, fostering environments where they can thrive academically and personally. Fathers are often the ones who plant these seeds of hope, encouraging their children to dream big and work hard. We've seen firsthand how these opportunities can change the trajectory of a child's life, turning dreams into realities. It’s a reminder that even the smallest contributions can have a profound impact when nurtured with care and dedication. This Father’s Day, let's honor the fathers who inspire, guide, and support their children’s educational journeys. By supporting ACE Scholarships you're not just funding an education; you're planting a seed of hope, growth, and endless possibilities for future generations. Together, let's continue to sow these seeds and witness the extraordinary gardens they become. https://lnkd.in/gbDtyC8x #FathersDay #EducationalChoice #ACEsScholarships #Inspiration #Hope #Growth #PlantingSeeds
