Why do Whoop bands not tell the time? WHOOP bands do a lot but they don't tell the time. It would be an easy addition, but it's a feature they've ignored for good reason. Adding the time changes what a Whoop band is. Founder Will Ahmed deliberately didn't add the time because what is seemingly a simple addition would dramatically change the context of a Whoop band. It would go from being a health tracker to being a watch. And that small change makes a big difference to how people see and compare a Whoop band with other devices. Watches are compared with watches, they can be fashion accessories, route planners and more. A Whoop band is there to track your health only. And should be worn as well as a watch, not instead of.
