Thank you for the review. Alfredo Molinas, product tester at Triathlete, took a hands-on approach when trying out four AI-based training apps. Out of the four, Alfredo had this to say about Humango, "Humango looks like a useful tool for experienced athletes who have a few races under their belt and are looking to optimize their time and workouts while remaining flexible to the bumps that life can throw our way, such as injuries, late work nights – or, you know, a social life." And we're just getting started. Read the review here:

Do you have an upcoming 5k, 10k, Half or Full Marathon? Have you ever trained to your personal goal pace? NO subscriptions and NO hidden fees!?It is as simple as $1 a week for the length of the block. You setup ōvl by entering your race date, a race distance, the number of weeks that you are willing to train, and, most crucially, a goal race pace. With this data, the app engine builds a race-specific plan, assigning runs and workouts WITH PACES for every day leading up to your race. You can access your plan anytime via the web and by setting up daily or weekly emails. Behind the scenes, years of data and research are at work in preparing and curating your training block. "Cookie-Cutter" training blocks lack pace specific coaching.?ōvl is all about you; your goal, your pace, your race.

Over the last year and a half, running has become a huge part of my daily life. I used to hate running. The only time I found myself running is when I had to because of a military fitness test or something was about to fall off the counter. I hired a senior developer at work who has a love for running and proposed a challenge. "You should sign up for a 10 miler or half marathon and give it a shot!" I took him up on the challenge and have been hooked ever since. Beyond hooked. It has changed my life. Since getting started, I have signed up for an array of community runs and larger races. My friend and I would trade spreadsheets with training plans and other ideas on how we could hit our goals on the next race. We put our heads together and came up with ōvl running as a way to get away from paper and automate training plan creation. Based off the "oval" running track, our software aims to help runners set a goal, train consistently around their target pace so they can successfully hit their goals. "Your goal, your pace, your race." Ultimately, we took all of the best parts of a training platform and removed all the stuff we didn't like. First, SUBSCRIPTIONS. Yuck. Our lives are already filled with renewals, price hikes and hidden fees. ovlrunning.com is $1 a week for the length of your chosen training plan. Second, most training plans don't have specific paces and instructions on what you need to do for the day. A quote from a very well known training site; "Run 1 hour at an easy pace." What does that mean? How does it relate to your goal? I'm very proud of the work we have done to get a "version 1.0" out to the public so that runners can train to their goal pace. Thank you for reading and supporting! I hope running and getting outdoors will have as positive of an impact as it did on me! Life is good! www.ovlrunning.com ōvl running See you in the oval! -dallas

Technology which takes away the cognitive load and friction Today there are multiple brands of ergometers, indoor rowing machines, but none really compete with Concept2, Inc. . Sometimes when I don't want to think I sit down and just do the WOD from their Erg data app. In a few taps their preprogrammed plan links to my screen and sets the duration of work and rest so I don't have to think about what to do or fiddle with anything. Concept2 has improved their indoor training models in small ways over the years including making one higher off the ground, and canting the handles slightly to make the grip more comfortable. The screen has bigger numbers and can display different units. You can manually program fixed and variable intervals. The device holds a long workout history (I sometimes inspect as the gym to see what the non-rowers are doing). A huge shift in my use of the Concept2 rowing machine has been not due to the changes in the physical machine, but in the community they have built for Crash-Bs and the online logbook. Staying motivated with fitness works best with benchmarking of your previous results and others like you. Any product based company looking at whole to compete in the digital age and the world of social media could borrow a few pages from the C2 playbook. - constantly improve in common sense features - build community and support your users goals - make your charitable donations participatory and directly aligned with product usage - develop engagement and usage metrics that align with consistency and longevity of use I love Concept2, not just because that what I first used and am most familiar with. Not because they are a Vermont based company. I love them because mindful use of their product and the supporting software has a measurable effect on my physical and mental health.

If you know me, you know exactly why I'm sharing this. Indoor Cycling is alive and well and an extremely popular form of training and one of my personal favorites. Something of note in this article is the way Brick Bodies uses virtual to complement their live offering. A virtual system needs to be more than a tv, and if done right can help your members access group fitness at the less popular times. If you're open 247 and have 20 x 45 min classes - your studio is only used 15 hours of the week, leaving 153 hours where your studio is not utilized. Why not make it a space where your members can get a great virtual experience? What are your thoughts?
