Discovering your role in community capacity building and social change requires us to go inward: Gather your people, in your safe spaces and ask: What does a community that is equitable and just look like to me, and how can I contribute to making it a reality? What relationships in my community could I strengthen or deepen to foster just and equitable, and caring communities? How can I ensure that my work in building community dismantles oppressive systems rather than replicating them? What practices help me stay committed to community building, even when it feels difficult?

Even brief or fleeting interactions can help establish familiarity between community members, which can eventually develop into a quality connection and encourage neighborly acts between residents.
