Powerful points here!!
“Armed with a strong prevention and early intervention lens, imagine if we could provide each family with the support they need to keep their children safe and connected to their homes and community.” ???? In today’s edition of InDaily, our Chief Executive Simon Schrapel AM advocates for strategic investment in child protection to improve both child safety and the state budget’s bottom line. Through greater funding in early intervention services, we can significantly reduce the number of children in care – and save taxpayer dollars in the long run. When it comes to protecting South Australia’s kids, we need bold action to prioritise long-term benefits over short-term savings. ?? Affordable housing tops the agenda for leaders across the country. The United States Conference of Mayors recently released its 2024 election priorities, a bipartisan national issue platform that will drive the mayors’ advocacy at this summer’s Republican and Democratic national conventions and beyond. On the #priority for housing, they say: "Without further delay, the next president and Congress must pass the largest and most comprehensive investment legislation in #affordablehousing in American history that incentivizes production, helps families buy their first home, ends homelessness, and ensures that our first responders, teachers and frontline healthcare workers can live where they work." Federal / local partnerships are critical in addressing the most pressing issues in our country. Habitat for Humanity International recently concluded #CostOfHome, a five-year U.S. #advocacy campaign, that led to 6.6 million people gaining access to stable and affordable homes and more than 300 policy changes. Discover the #impact of this campaign and learn how you can advocate for this most urgent need at https://lnkd.in/dPt2mrZ.
