Yep, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I (a self-respecting, 2nd generation New Yorker) got here (taking selfies with a billboard in the middle of Times Square). Ngl, the billboards hit different when they’re yours??? ?? ?? Today Chili Piper had the biggest launch in our history—what we’re calling our Demand Conversion Platform—and, I have to admit, there’s no more iconic place to celebrate then right down on 42nd street. And it’s true: we do love people! DCP creates a seamless bridge between marketing and sales, all on a single unified platform with chat, lead distribution, form routing, scheduling, and SDR-to-AE handoff. Why? So that revenue teams are empowered to do what they do best: build genuine connections with customers and put the humanity back into human interactions. As a People-person who is part of a people-loving company, I could not be more excited or proud of every single Piper who worked so tirelessly over the past few years to get to today. Last Wednesday, I had the chance to join yet another grand jury session for COMMWARD 2024, judging the Effective Use of Media and Creative Use of Media categories. While there were a few standout campaigns, there were also far too many that felt repetitive and cliché. What struck me most were the campaigns that had all the potential but didn’t break through due to poorly crafted case studies. Case studies need to be tailored for each category, but this is something we often fail to grasp. We tend to blame time constraints and deadlines, but the real issue is that we don't start working on our case studies right after a campaign wraps up. That has to change. I've been saying this for years - we need to up our game. Otherwise, we’ll end up in a place where clichés are celebrated over the truly deserving work, and that's a future none of us want to see. That said, today's session left me hopeful. The industry colleagues who were present and the campaigns we reviewed showed that we have the talent and the drive.
