The results from the Circle League Championship series are in and it’s a hearty congratulations to Columbia Business School who have won the Circle League Championship for the first time. They therefore make their debut in the Inner Circle MBA Business School World Series final, where they will meet London Business School, on Monday 14 October.
After 173 votes, the full Circle League Championship Series results were as follows:
Columbia Business School: 79 (46%)
The University of Chicago Booth School of Business: 41 (24%)
Sa?d Business School, University of Oxford: 32 (18%)
HEC Paris: 21 (12%)
A comfortable win for Columbia Business School in a poll that was relatively even across the three days. They pulled out to an early lead and maintained it throughout; Oxford Sa?d Business School held second place for much of day one and the early part of day two before Chicago Booth flexed its midwestern muscles and charged off in pursuit of CBS. They never really got close though, and so it is the venerable New York City institution which joins London Business School in a marquee World Series final.
That it is Columbia Business School which takes on London Business School in this, the last ever Inner Circle MBA Business School World Series final, is not without a touch of additional interest. The two schools form something of a doubles pairing, combining as they do to form one of the world’s best Executive MBA programs, the EMBA-Global. There will be some tough decisions for some in the final. For staff, students, faculty, and alumni of London Business School the choice will probably be clear. Equally so for those associated with Columbia Business School. For students and alumni of the EMBA-Global, however, this final represents something of a Sophie’s Choice: a chance to support one alma mater at the expense of another. Time will tell how they vote.
And so, with 18 out of 19 polls complete, it has come to this. London Business School vs Columbia Business School in the Inner Circle MBA Business School World Series final on Monday 14 October. Who will emerge victorious in the last ever edition? Cast your vote next week to have your say.
