Elevating Events: Shooting events can be a wild challenge. I see many event recaps that collapse into very basic shots and edit choices. Understanding how to elevate the event to suit your client's needs is key to success. Understanding what they want to get out of your video should be your number one priority. Below is my event recap of PAX East 2024. Take a look at how I grab the audience and make you "want to go to there". Example of this below:

Soccer/Football practice was Tuesday and Thursday. Every Tuesday. Every Thursday. Was it structured? Yes. Was it deliberate practice? Yes. Was it every week? Yes. Was it messy and imperfect? Absolutely. And that was exactly the point. All too often practitioners will seek perfection in their simulations, much like they strive for perfection in gameday readiness (as James Hardy quite rightly calls out). Weeks, sometimes months of planning, the prepping and handholding of stakeholders, communication on top of communication to ensure everything is just perfect. But in responding to an emerging threat or an "unknown unknown", there is no perfect. Your team, will most likely not have all the answers. If you deliver something short, sharp and **highly engaging** on Tuesday and Thursday, lessons will be learned and capability will develop. Do that every week, or even every month, and muscle memory will be forged. And here's the kicker, the imperfections, the curve balls, the missing team player, the unexpected mid-practice injury, is what drives the critical thinking and problem solving, that drives agility.
