What does the pathway towards best practice engagement look like? The latest report from International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Australasia has just landed, and it contains a lot of practical information and action items for folks working in and around the engagement space. A big thanks to all involved in putting this together, and a special shout out to the author and regular contributor Sally Hussey - well done, again! The report covers a lot of ground in relation to how engagement can help re-build trust and establish social license when driving toward positive Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) outcomes. There are so many practical recommendations, but here are my picks for the innovation-minded folks keen to utilise digital tools to articulate value, these are direct highlights from the report: ?? Use digital reporting and dashboard reporting to communicate risk to get buy-in ?? Utilise data reporting (i.e., CRM or automated reporting systems) to create live insights ?? Use digital reporting to bridge projects to avoid examining risks in isolation ?? Use data to demonstrate solutions focus to risk ?? Track engagement across projects, analyse prior metrics to target hotspots Breadth of data usage is the theme here. There is heaps of data flowing through organisations looking to get their engagement projects working harder for them. There are certainly adjustments in terms of best practice engagement itself, but there are also creative and innovative ways to work smarter with insights that are already surrounding you. Today, I had a great opportunity to present at the online event: ?ESG: в?д засад до кращих ?вропейських практик? organized by ESG Liga #PAEW ??????. I discussed the Social factors in ESG, emphasizing workers' rights, diversity, community engagement, and consumer protection. We explored the CSRD standards and their integration with ESG frameworks to enhance corporate transparency and sustainability. Key trends highlight that companies with strong ESG performance tend to outperform their peers financially, with a growing number of investors prioritizing ESG criteria in their decision-making. In Ukraine, due to the current war, the focus on social factors is increasing, driven by both regulatory changes and stakeholder demand for greater accountability.
