The Board of Directors and Satff at Hopewell Music Cooperative North are delighted to welcome Alfred Sanders as our new Executive Director! In this role, Alfred will lead the organization in its mission to improve access to music education in North Minneapolis through affordable, inclusive, and engaging music programs. Alfred began his new role with Hopewell Music on January 16, 2024 and brings a wealth of experience from nonprofit, music, and social services sectors. Most recently, he co-founded and served as the director of operations of a local black arts organization in Minneapolis. He’s also been a champion for youth wellness and education throughout Minneapolis. As a classically trained vocalist and songwriter, he has been able to support emerging artists as they navigate the music business field. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in Marketing, Business and Sociology from Metropolitan State University, along with an Artist/Producer/Entrepreneur Certificate from Hollywood’s Musicians Institute. “In a competitive search for Hopewell’s next leader, Alfred stood out,” said Hopewell Music board chair Jeannine Burnette. “His stories growing up in North Minneapolis, his commitment to helping underserved youth, love for music education, experience leading nonprofit business operations, and just his all-around warm personality is what drew us to him. We’re excited to support Alfred as our new executive director as we find a new home, implement our strategic plan, and continue offering music programs in high-demand for North Minneapolis families.” Support Hopewell Music as we embark on this exciting new chapter with Alfred.
