I have some questions. Y Combinator Co-Founder Paul Graham tells founders to “make something people want.” But do accelerators today actually help founders do that? Or, considering how only 2% of companies are accepted to incubator programs (as noted by Kiran Panjwani and FounderWay), is there an expectation that founders will have?already made something people want when they are accepted into the program? If so, doesn't the accelerator simply exist to accelerate the seed funding process, benefitting the accelerator and its affiliated investors? I'm asking these questions because I am genuinely curious. Is this state of affairs a good thing?
