Food, glorious, food. Fuelling appropriately is a MASSIVE part of training. Whether that’s fuelling ahead of a run, during a run, or refuelling after. Which is great, because I bloody LOVE food. If one of my colleagues happens to see me wolfing down a salad in the cafeteria, or grazing on a packet of nuts at my desk, my excuse will probably be, “I’m training for a race!” And sometimes that’s true ?? As much as possible, my focus is on eating a whole food plant-based diet. Whether it’s sweet potato curry, three bean chilli, or just a simple refreshing salad, the aim is to get a good balance of protein, carbs and fats in every meal using natural ingredients. But equally important, is actually enjoying what I eat… Whether it’s a meal I’m sharing with my family, or just a simple snack to fuel me during an ultramarathon, enjoying what I eat is key. I used to think that being healthy and happy would mean having to subscribe to an extremely limited and restricted diet which would exclude so many of the foods I enjoy, but I don’t think I’ve ever eaten as many different foods as I do now… and a lot of them! Finding what works for you and your training goals is hugely important, but I also think that enjoying the food that you eat shouldn’t be overlooked. Not to mention, if you hit a wall mentally during your run, nothing’s gonna help you to overcome it like a nice snack! Stay healthy please ?? Trainers or speakers are spoiled. Spoiled for choices. We get to eat a lot especially if the session is done at a hotel ?? And you can easily forget that it's abnormal to eat at buffets all the time. I mean if you think about it, when you go to a buffet you feel compelled to eat more, if not rugi ?? Over the years I've realized that I've got to watch out. So I've learned to control myself a bit better. Jussssst a bit better ?? Here are some tips to trainers or speakers when they are out there with clients having buffet lunches. ??? A one plate strategy and flat structure ?? Focus on just having one plate max and make sure no gunung on the plate ??? ??? Go for a lot of veggies. Hotels tend to have fresh veggies so it's lovely to enjoy. ??? For local hotels, avoid the cordial drinks ?? There's just a tonne of sugar in them. Mineral water is my go to! ??? Eat as if you are at a normal restaurant...order one dish type of food. Mana ada main himpun makanan macam tak makan setahun ?? ??? I just love Tun M's advice. If it's delicious....stop. ?? Susah but actually quite a good tip. Anyways, this is just normal fun Friday post! I'm glad that I've got friends like Jayvikramjit Singh and Happy Azzad Anuarudin to share some tips with me on diet. Though Happy is only useful when he is going into a competition...if not he is the biggest eater in the team. Can easily beat Daniel Chan ?? So here's me having a banana before my session. Your day-to-day food system Food choices are a massive key to where your body fat levels go, As I get older, I have a lot more responsibilities with kids and business I had to change my system loads No way could I do the same thing as I did in my 20’s or even when I was in my 30’s Let’s be honest. It’s a mind field out there, and so much advice on what to eat and not to eat Or what’s working for them Some say Don’t eat this. Don’t eat that The best advice I can give is Do you and what works for you, and try to get the short-term thinking out of your head Yes, a short-term goal is suitable For holidays, etc., but change your system to long-term thinking and sustainability, or you will keep going around in a vicious circle or fat on and fat off Some like breakfast, some don’t, Some like animal foods, and some won’t go near it An excellent system that works for most is to stick to roughly the 80/20 rule 80 % natural whole foods and 20 % foods that taste that bit nicer for I personally am super clean in the week at around 95% and relaxed more on weekends That’s works for me cause I love a drink and relax on weekends So Get your day's foods planned out in advance so you know exactly what you are going to be eating Don’t go super low in calories; you obviously need to be in a calorie deficit to lose fat, but do it smartly so you don’t hit that brick wall and mess everything else up Also, Be patient or take the guesswork out of it and hire a coach who knows how it’s done and knows your life and responsibilities If you want access to my ultimate guide to meal prep that will help you massively, message below the words “meal prep”, and I’ll send it over for free The next video will be on training

Stir-fry onions and tomatoes first, then add cauliflower, red peppers and mushrooms and stir for 3 minutes ( blanched in boiling water). 2. ?? Add cooked pasta and stir for 5 minutes, add tomato sauce and stir for another 2 minutes. 3. ?? It's time to decorate! 15 minutes oh my god!! Please don't do like me, I just spend a lot of time decorating because I want to take a beautiful photo of my dish, usually it only takes me 5 minutes to simply decorate and enjoy while it's still hot. 4. ??
