In Cape Town, a significant number of patients are having their upper four incisor extracted while the lower incisor teeth remain and eventually over-erupt. It’s so very common that a recent view of the Kaapse Klopse revealed that every group photograph showed one or more citizens with missing four maxillary incisors. It’s time that the Western Cape address this local Dentistry phenomenon. They , the Dentists must take ownership of this catastrophe. And stop pushing the UCT Palaeontologists to guise it as teeth ablation, when in fact, it is clearly teeth extractions! That is the sad sum of Dentistry in Western Province. Aluta Continua.
