?? UPDATE FROM ROTTERDAM ?? We've just wrapped up the second session featuring the launch of the DHC Market Outlook 2024. ?? This flagship report from Euroheat & Power, presented by Eloi Piel, highlights pivotal trends that will shape the future of our sector. ?? ? The insights from the study highlight the burgeoning potential for district heating, underscored by robust growth across various European markets. Yet, there remains a noticeable disparity between local government ambitions and the reality of project execution. ??? ? See the full report here: https://lnkd.in/dKASDdGY ? What is LOGSTOR doing to support this growth? ? Our CEO?Terry McGivern shared some key challenges and innovative solutions: ? "A major challenge is the scarcity of skilled welders. Our newly developed solution, PertFlextra, eliminates the need for steel welding, enabling faster installation." ?? ? "To reduce the cost and speed of excavation, we've developed the Twin Pipes product series, which accommodates both flow directions in a single pipe, reducing excavation size and speeding up the process." ?? Furthermore, Margarete van Aken highlighted our commitment to skill development: ? "Through the LOGSTOR Academy, we are addressing the shortage of skilled joint installers by providing high-quality education, including certification and re-certification, to ensure a competent workforce." ?? In conclusion, as district heating continues to expand across Europe, it's crucial to bridge the gap between aspirations and real-world implementations and to modernize infrastructures to boost efficiency and environmental sustainability. ?? ? #DistrictHeating #EuroHeatAndPower #EnergySector #Innovation

This scenario is far too common. Either engineering tools lack capabilities, or they’re overwhelming! HSY, one of the largest water and sewer utilities in the Nordics, was in a similar situation — they needed improved features and performance. Engineers at HSY decided to take their sewer system to new heights by developing a real-time simulation solution to manage and analyze the 6,000 kilometre sewer network. After thoroughly selecting, they chose the Fluidit Storm simulation platform for its robust functionality and flexible user experience. Here’s how it helped transform HSY’s approach: - Fluidit Storm’s compatibility with other ICT systems enabled smooth transitions - Seamless access to real-time simulations aligning with environmental protection goals - Enhanced modeling capabilities boosted the team’s problem-solving prowess Read the full case study. ?? https://bit.ly/3LC5ZZ7

Excited to be serving on a panel at the BuiltWorlds Infrastructure Conference to discuss "Mobility/Transportation: Roads, Bridges, Tunnels, and Innovations in How We Move." Interestingly, right before my panel, the conference organizers shared survey results on alternative fuels for heavy equipment. The biggest barriers are not unlike those for onroad vehicles: cost and charging infrastructure. ElectroTempo, Inc.'s Terminals solution is purpose-built and field-tested to optimize the infrastructure and minimize the cost for jobsite equipment.

Rotterdam is the second-largest city in the Netherlands and it sits below sea level. This fact has caused local water utilities to rethink how they combat water issues while reducing their carbon footprint. Water utility Evides provides safe and reliable drinking water to 2.5 million people in the southwest region of the Netherlands and aims to become carbon-neutral by 2025. With the help of Bentley software, they optimized their network of water pumps covering a total of 110 million cubic meters pumped per year. The team evaluated the dynamic switch points for the stations and performed energy cost calculations to determine the optimum efficiency for all major pumping stations. As a result, the pumping stations now use 33% less energy, reducing their carbon footprint by 942 tonnes of CO2 per year, while satisfying demand, pressure, and water quality requirements in the city of Rotterdam.
