I need some Client Experience people for THE BEST luxury office clients!! But what does that really mean? If you're #Opentowork and reading this post, and/or my adverts, it's a cross between #Reception, #Concierge, #Admin, #Hospitality and #Sales - but that still isn't really too insightful to you as a candidate, is it? So let's try it this way! You know the feeling when you walk into a really lush hotel, or high end restaurant and the doormen hold the door or show you the way in - usually with a nice compliment or a jolly little "have a great time" you're feeling special right? Fresh flowers on reception, a beautiful smell, the buzz of people in the coffee lounge doing business. Then the Concierge/Reception team greet you - someone takes your luggage - offers you a drink - they can't do enough. Everyone is spot on! You feel really special, right? THIS is the feeling that we need our candidates to deliver (just in an office setting rather than hospitality, Mon-Fri) Whatever your background - if you think you can make this happen, then I really want to hear from you! A few notes from this article that stand out: - In 2024, hotels across the US are expected to collectively shell out $123 billion in compensation — up more than 20% from 2019,?The Wall Street Journal reported, citing data from the American Hotel & Lodging Association. - Hotels are still paring back amenities like daily housekeeping services, which were originally reduced or eliminated entirely during the pandemic. Some 70% of hotels have reduced or eliminated amenities and services on-site in response to staffing shortfalls. - In addition, the workers that are on staff are being asked to do more, such as check in guests at the front desk and mix up beverages behind the bar when needed, per The Journal, while the same employees that are doing laundry are helping with housekeeping duties. #hotelier #hotel #hotelmanagement #hotelsales #hotelmarket #hospitality #hotelpayroll #boutiquehotel

ABOUT TRULY GREAT HOTEL MANAGERS This interview with an executive of The Peninsula Hotels that touches on their philosophy for hiring managers resonates with my own. If a hotel is able to hire a professional who trained at one of the world's top hotel schools, then the chance of getting the real deal hospitality package of skills and attitude is very high. Outside of these elite group of hotel professionals, it's like winning a lottery to hire someone with an authentic sense of hospitality. After interviewing so many potential candidates to replace my amazing general manager Napo -- yes, I won the lottery that time -- who has been with La Esperanza Granada since Day 1 but is soon embarking on the next chapter of his life, I realized that a real sense of service and a talent for organization is what I should be looking for and professional skills are desirable but only secondary. The skills can be learned via a hotel consultant over several weeks or months, but the real attitude is either there or not. And if you are the manager, it cannot be there only for eight hours of the working day. At least not if you are aiming for greatness.
