One Tonne Capital is busy in North Texas performing initial site assessments and collecting preliminary methane monitoring data at our next batch of wells that will be plugged for purposes of generating carbon credits using the BCarbon Methane Capture & Reclamation (MCR) Protocol for idle & orphan wells. Shout out to Steve Hillmer for managing this super hot and humid weather in an old gas field that’s been shut down since 2020 after another market collapse. The team at ALL Consulting is already running numbers and getting our PPP application started. So there is a lot of talk about this type of work, but I hope all those involved in all the aspects of this recognize the work that goes into truly doing this in a positive way that provides for “permanent” elimination of methane emissions, but also protection of our precious groundwater, land, and more.
