1-Minute Wednesday No. 172: The Power of Intuition: Why Trusting Your Inner Voice Matters
Design A Life That Really Matters
In a world that values data and analytics, it’s easy to forget the power of our intuition.
Recently, I was stranded in an airport during storm Ida. The rain was torrential. Flood waters had caused all of the roads and trains coming into the airport to be closed.? As you can imagine, the airport was a chaotic, noisy place. I knew I had to find somewhere quiet so I could think.
Determined to get a good night’s rest, I managed to book a hotel room at an airport hotel. But when I went to rent a car, there were no cars to rent.?
Not to be deterred, I decided to walk. The rain was starting to lighten up, and I could see the hotel a mere 10-minute walk away.?But as I walked from the airport, I heard a voice in my head state clearly, “Do not do this.”?
I pushed it out of my mind.
A few steps later, it came again. “Do not do this.”
This time, I followed it and turned around and returned to the airport.?
I don’t know what would have happened had I continued to the hotel, but I can tell you this: the biggest mistakes of my whole life have been when I didn’t follow that inner voice.?
Have you ever had an experience like that? What did you do? And what were the results?
Over the past several weeks, we’ve talked about ways to eliminate noise in your life. And there are so many reasons to relentlessly reduce that noise, but perhaps the most important reason is so you can hear the inner voice that guides you.
When you hear that voice, don’t be afraid to follow it. You don’t have to justify that to anyone. You don’t have to explain it, and you don’t have to explain it away.
Trust that voice.? ?

Perhaps, we are (should) possibly seeing (see) the emergence of a new era where leaders who shape up our current & and future world(s) would have to have a balance between their heart and the brain, so that they initiate & and lead sustained organizations with benevolent Innovation, striking simplicity and visionary brilliance."
