It commemorates the day in 1965 when the remaining enslaved people were notified of their freedom—two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggles for racial equity and freedom which, if addressed, can help individuals thrive as well as support growth and innovation.
