Although I agree with this statement, at WYVERN we don’t manage people. We expect our team members to manage themselves. And we don’t think of people as “bosses.” Instead, we use the term “primary advocate” and each team member has one. The primary advocate ensures we have an environment and culture that enables their team mate’s capability and growth. Also, each person on the team advocates for their colleagues’ success (in life and on the WYVERN team). Team Emotional intelligence is key! #emotionalintelligence

Some, like change agents, act as "#hunters" venturing beyond the familiar to seek new opportunities and growth. Others, like "#dwellers" nurture existing structures, ensuring stability and long-term sustainability. These seemingly distinct approaches are often #misconstrued as #competition, leading to unnecessary friction and missed potential. Instead, embracing the #symbioticRelationship between hunters and dwellers unlocks powerful synergies. ??#Hunters bring fresh perspectives and innovation, challenging the status quo and identifying new frontiers. ??#Dwellers, grounded in the established foundation, refine existing processes, optimize operations, and safeguard stability. ??Neither group could thrive in isolation. The hunter needs the fertile ground cultivated by the dweller to plant seeds of change. The dweller benefits from the hunter's discoveries, expanding their horizons and adapting to a dynamic environment. This analogy resonates with one of my experiences at the recent event. While the "operations team," acting as dwellers, brought impressive results, the Leadership wisely acknowledged the vital role of the "R&D/Product team," the hunters, in fostering a ?? #growthMindset and driving #innovation. Both sides were recognized as #equallyValuable contributors ??????, their distinct approaches forming a complementary force for the organization's progress. Moving forward, organizations must foster a culture of #allyship ?? that transcends labels and headcounts. This means: ?Valuing #diversePerspectives: Encourage open communication and collaboration between hunters and dwellers, recognizing the unique strengths each brings. ?Focusing on #sharedOutcomes: Shift the narrative from individual contributions to collective impact, aligning efforts towards common goals. ?Building #bridges: Facilitate communication and understanding between different teams, breaking down silos and fostering mutual respect. As much as we're enamored by the Lone Ranger, Thomas Shelby, Don Draper, James Bond, or a cast of other characters (no personal bias in the above of course), the reality is that it takes a strong team to really grow something of value.
