Experts gather today as part of a new project from the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights that explores strategic foresight and fundamental rights. It aims to provide EU and national policy makers with foresight analysis on future fundamental rights challenges and opportunities, as well as develop guidance on building fundamental rights considerations into their strategic reflections. Great initiative of the @FRA to better integrate of #FundamentalRights and Human Rights into #StrategicForesight. As Foresight follows value driven principles, it is a perfect, but little prepared match. It was rich and constructive dialogue. I am happy to have been able to contribute to integrate Future Impacts Consulting expertise in Policy Foresight and Inclusive Foresight. My key take-aways for Fundamental Rights Foresight for policy making are: ?? ??Streamline the Fundamental Right Foresight approach to the application context in the policy cycle, may it be used for broader agenda setting or in an Impact Assessment process ?? ??Bundle forces with Fundamental Rights related policy targets like Gender policies and SDGs to increase uptake ?? ??Tackle blindspot and valuation biases by integrating fundamental rights criteria into driver scanning, assessment of preferred futures and when stresstesting policy options ?? ???Make foresight more inclusive by using easily accessible participation formats and communication approaches? ?? ??Make sure the Foresight approach is comprehensive and easily accessible to ensure its uptake by policymakers and fundamental rights representatives.
