What is their strategy?
The NBA seeks strategic investments that enhance their brand and business model, that in success not only increases the value of their investments but also their main product.
They don't seem to have sourcing challenges due to their enviable brand and participation from their billionaire team owners with many in tech and finance I'm sure helps
Notable investments include Zigazoo, which is a content platform tailored for kids which points at an audience play for younger generations, and Nextiles, that's a smart fabric company that allows them to gain game insight as well as participate in apparel which is a big sponsorship category.
What's the relevance?
- Sports leagues are adapting to the changes in Media quickly and aggressively starting to build out capabilities across the whole sports, fan, and player vertical now that they are less reliant on traditional media and can reach fan bases in wider and more interactive ways
