Hesse Mechatronics has been working with University California Santa Barbara Gaucho Race Team and University California Riverside Highlander Racing for sometime with wire/ribbon bonding their battery packs for FormulaSAE. They each have very unique interconnection methods. Gaucho Race Team used aluminum ribbon bonding while Highlander Racing used heavy copper wire. Even though these students are quite busy with their studies, they found time to attend the last IMAPS Symposium to talk with high school students about choosing engineering for their studies. Gaucho Race Team: Nicholas Rivelle, Ryan Nguyen, Jason Wei, Aran Sandhu, Diego Vasquez, Owen Liu, and Raaghav Thirumaligai. Highlander Race Team: Joshua Huang, Grayson Young, and Don Shiu.
Hello Mike. it’s been a long time we have not connected. Hope you are doing well. The new technology of electrification probably have you busy with all the interconnection projects. Hope to see you in the Midwest in the near future
looks great, some years ago, copper wire on nickel seems to be impossible... Never stop trying it again and again, fing your own solution.
Awesome to see the different battery interconnect methods. The copper wire onto nickel and copper bus bars with stitch makes the system more efficient (process and robust DFM ... makes rework much easier if needed)
Great Application for wedge bonding....
Nice Pic Mike! Congratulations on the good work as always! ??
Thanks for helping us Mike! We are always grateful.
Appreciation for posting!
So great. Best of luck to both teams.
Excellent work!
