Community Awareness and Support: Silent Fighters and Survivors The strongest warriors are the ones who fought battles we never knew about." - Unknown Black Women who are Breast Cancer Fighters or Survivors may be silent about their health journey because of a desire not to have cancer identifing them. They have chosen seclusion because they never want to see sorrow in the eyes of family or friends. They prefer never to hear “how are you doing?” — a caring question nonetheless laced with the undertone that they are fragile. Ofcourse, Hiding is not the agenda; the agenda is just making it safe to go through the journey and not have cancer be at the forefront of of their days. Also, some Black Women don't tell because they are not wanting to burden friends, not wanting to alarm folks they love, fearing judgment from others, hoping to avoid awkward conversations, not jeopardizing their job, and hoping that managing the news helps them to control what seems like an uncontrollable situation. The Black Women’s Breast Cancer Support Group is designed to provide emotional and social support to help Black Women cope with the struggles of cancer. BW4HL is committed to advocating, educating and empowering Black Women impacted by Breast Cancer. Whether you are a fighter, survivor, a caregiver, co-survivor, family member or friend, we all need a little help when dealing with cancer and other stressful life changes. ***Disclosure: All support groups are confidential and a safe place. Today on International Childhood Cancer Day, let’s talk about inequality. In high-income countries of the WHO European region, 8 out of 10 children with cancer survive. However, this is not the case across the rest of the region, where survival rates may be significantly lower. This disparity underlines the urgent need for accessible palliative care. Palliative care for children is the active total care for the child’s body, mind, and spirit, and also involves giving support to the family. Every child, regardless of geography, should have access to the treatment and care they need. On this Childhood Cancer Day, let's commit to closing the gap and ensuring equitable access to care for all. #ChildhoodCancer #PalliativeCare

This is what it's like to be a cancer survivor finding community after the initial shock wears off and treatment stops or lessens and the well-intentioned loved ones (and people who came out of the woodwork to give socks, coloring books, and blankets) move on. When the GoFundMe disappears and the threat of death and disability is no longer so imminent so the appeal is gone. Cancer is only sexy to onlookers when there's danger involved. This is why community is so powerful. Regardless of age, stage, type, geography, race, sex, gender, etc., every cancer survivor identifies with this feeling of rebuilding alone, until they find others. There is no bond like the one between people who have faced the same trauma. Our houses may look different, but they're all in various states of disrepair after the storm and they all use similar materials to rebuild. Children facing the challenges of a parent's cancer need our support. ?? While research shows that a parent's cancer profoundly impacts an entire family, there are often limited resources and avenues of support for children of cancer patients, survivors, and those who have passed from cancer - a population of more than 5 million nationwide. The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychology found that grieving children may experience a multitude of complicated mental and emotional symptoms including loss of interest in daily activities, inability to sleep, loss of appetite, withdrawal from friendships, and beyond. Without understanding and lasting, empathetic support, we know that these issues may worsen or persist into adolescence and adulthood. Children Impacted By A Parent's Cancer Month is dedicated to building greater awareness and understanding of these children and their unique needs and experiences so that we may reach and serve more families that need us from coast to coast. However, thanks to the development of Pediatric Oncology, between 75 and 80% of those children with a tumor will be cured of their disease with no or minimal sequelae in most cases. At #CLOVERTY, we adhere, convinced, to all actions that involve an increase in research against all types of ailments, especially those as difficult as a diagnosis of cancer, and above all, in children. We are committed to help and more means for the wonderful performance of health professionals for early diagnosis and treatment that guarantees the quality of life of patients and their families. #CLOVERTY has been leading this aspect for several years. Its products, in soft gelatin capsules, represent a good nutritional and pharmaceutical habit to prevent and combat, as a complement, any attack on health. In addition, he also regularly collaborates in the social and family sphere, through the Roland McDonald Foundation. It is “a true home away from home”. The objective is to preserve their hours of play, of intimacy, as long as physical conditions allow it. At #CLOVERTY we are very proud to afford a room in this house of hope, full of life. Also, we have financed the replacement of all appliances, and the donation of baskets with all kinds of products for the parents of diagnosed children and adolescents, to make everything a little more bearable. The most exciting thing, in any case, was this past Christmas, when our employees became in Santa's helpers to deliver gifts and receive the smiles and hopes of the little ones. As a passionate supporter of Movember, and believer that more needs to be done to raise awareness of men's health issues, I've signed up to support their call for more government focus on this area, why not join me. Globally, on average, 1 man dies by suicide every minute of every day. Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men in the UK.?Across the country, there are more than 395,000 men living with and beyond the disease. Many are dealing with serious side effects from treatment. Testicular cancer strikes young and is the most common cancer in men between the age of 15-39.
