AI-powered apps devour family time 8+ hrs/day glued to screens by age 12 Digital immersion isn't just changing how kids spend their time - it reshapes their developing brains, affecting attention spans, emotional regulation, and social skills. As parents, we compete with AI-powered apps designed to hold attention. It's not a fair fight. Three suggestions: 1. Break the bond of food and screens: no devices during meals including prep. Parents, this includes us - we lead by example and leave the phone in the bedroom. 2. Replace digital time with physical connection: daily game time with activities and objects, especially for pre-teens (wrestling and puzzles were my favourites). 3.
