On this World Suicide Prevention Day, we join the global movement to "Change the Narrative on Suicide" and encourage everyone to "Start the Conversation." With over 700,000 lives lost to suicide each year, it’s a significant public health issue that impacts individuals, families, and communities. At MedWorks, we believe in breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting open conversations about suicide prevention. By fostering an environment of understanding and support, we can make a difference. Now more than ever, it’s crucial to prioritize mental health in the workplace and beyond. Let’s advocate for policies that enhance access to care, offer support to those in need, and ensure mental well-being is a key focus. Together, we can create a culture where it's safe to talk about mental health, ask for help, and support one another. Join us in raising awareness and starting these critical conversations. Together, we can save lives. ?? #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #ChangeTheNarrative #StartTheConversation #MentalHealthAwareness #SupportAndCare #EndTheStigma #CorporateWellness #MentalHealthMatters

I was 15 the first time I lost someone to suicide. Before my mustache was a permanent fixture, it only made appearances during the month of November for an annual fundraiser. The money raised for Movember went toward mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer research, and testicular cancer research. I've since adopted the mustache full time. September is National Suicide Prevention Month. When thinking about how to talk about this important topic, I really like how Simon Sinek explains the false expectations we associate with mental health compared to the ways we understand physical health. He describes how healthy people get sick, or catch a cold, and how their immune system helps them recover. Mental fitness, he says, would then describe the normalcy of imperfection. Health is health. “...if you have sadness and if you have joy, and doubt, and uncertainty, and insecurity; that’s what it is to be human", Simon points out. -Asking for help is part of mental fitness. -Building a support network is part of a good mental exercise routine. -Practicing ongoing mental wellness creates resilience for the harder times — for the times when you "catch a cold". Being an advocate for others can look like connecting someone with professional support. It also looks like creating safe and supportive workplace environments for people to do their best work and live their best lives.
September is National Suicide Prevention Month—a time to raise awareness, foster open conversations, and extend support to those who may be struggling. It's also a time to remember the lives lost to suicide, the millions who have struggled with suicidal thoughts & the individuals, families, and communities that have been impacted. At OneDigital, we believe all employers have a role to play in helping to prioritize mental health and create a safe, supportive environment for all employees. Let’s work together to promote understanding, reduce stigma, and ensure that everyone knows they are not alone. #NationalSuicidePreventionMonth #MentalHealthMatters #breakthestigma

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, a powerful reminder of the importance of awareness and action. Since its inception in 2003 by the International Association for Suicide Prevention, in collaboration with WHO, this day has aimed to bring attention to the urgent issue of suicide prevention, reduce stigma, and raise awareness across communities, organizations, and governments. The message is clear: suicide is preventable. In memory of our dear friend and colleague, Peter De Prins, LQ - Energise for Success, Boho Strings, and our partners have come together to launch Be A He(a)ro—an initiative that promotes everyday Listening Leadership. By simply being present and listening to one another, we can make a meaningful difference in mental health and well-being. In a world that often feels disconnected, we all have the power to be He(a)ros through the simple act of listening. Let’s create a community where empathy and support thrive. Reach out to us today and learn how you can be a He(a)ro. #BoHoStrings #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #BeAHe(a)ro #ListeningLeadership #MentalHealthMatters
