That's the best approach to start a FYP. Final Year students should take note of this and follow the same approach in their various fields.
Hello connections. I am a 4th-year undergraduate student studying Mineral Processing Engineering at the School of Mining Engineering at the PNG University of Technology. The image I've attached is the cover page for my Literature Review on my Final Year Project. My Research Topic is 'Mineralogical Study of Porgera Gold Ore,' and the Research Question that I have proposed is "How can a Gold Mineralogical Study of Porgera Gold Ore detect the direction of additional ore bodies based on their gold signature appearance?" I am seeking knowledgeable people around this topic that may potentially assist me to conduct my research and carry out this Final Year Project. If you have had experience working in Porgera, or someone who may have a fair idea of the topic, please do reach out to me. Your support and contribution would be acknowledged in my reference section. Do private message me or send me an email at [email protected].? Thank you.

A little life dedicated to Graphite In my undergraduate course I always sympathized more with the mining segment that was more focused on being in the field, I even thought about studying geology. Our ore treatment course was, in fact, very weak, even though it was two years with a heavy workload. Once we have graduated, what we want most is a job. Soon the fight for one comes out. After several interviews and sending resumes, two options came closest to me: Vale and Nacional de Grafite. I chose the second one because it was a smaller company, even though it was a segment where my future experience would mean little in the market if I needed it, after all it was the only one in Brazil. The most interesting thing is that I ended up going the opposite way to the proposed student, I went to work with a concentration of graphite. My position would become vacant when the engineer I would replace was transferred to the company's headquarters and would be his replacement. There was no training program. They kept pushing me into a corner and studying alone, precisely in the segment that my undergraduate course suffered the most and even worse: the entire theory was based on Work Index materials of around 14 kWh/t and graphite has around 45kWh/t. A team of practitioners, as much as possible, told me as much as they could. They were my true teachers and the attempt to reciprocate with my theoretical knowledge produced high-level learning. In this push training I went through the laboratory and floated a lot on the bench (it was great) and due to someone who resigned I had to supervise maintenance for 1 year, but I soon started my position. Head of the Production department. During 3 years in this role I learned the secrets of the mines by having to produce concentrates with a carbon content with an average of 93% C and with a wide granulometric variation suited to each specific customer demand. This plant would give the company the title of best graphite producer in the world, but only God knows how much our team sacrificed to achieve this. The project was for 1200 tons per month with a content of 88%C. We produce 2000 t. month with a content of 93%C without practically adding any additional equipment. The secret came from the segregation of ores in the mines and the variation of the flowchart depending on the product. If you want more, I'll tell you the various steps to achieve this miracle and what's more, the bosses offer us cost reductions to demonstrate their services... this story repeats itself, but it's old.

#snsinstitution #desingthinker #snsdesignthinking Mining in the engineering discipline is the extraction of minerals from the ground. Mining engineering is associated with many other disciplines, such as mineral processing, exploration, excavation, geology, metallurgy, geotechnical engineering and surveying. A mining engineer may manage any phase of mining operations, from exploration and discovery of the mineral resources, through feasibility study, mine design, development of plans, production and operations to mine closure Career Prospects This field promises total job satisfaction, high salary compensations, and a prosperous career. In India one can easily find jobs in public as well private sectors. The Neyvelli Lignite Corporation, Coal India Ltd., Geological Survey of India, the Indian Bureau of Mines, and the IPCL are the top recruiters of mining engineers in the public sector.

I've resisted for a long time, but have finally given in and I'm going to produce a second book to follow on from "Crimes Against Mine Planning". The key decision before writing any book is "what should I write about?" That has definitely been an issue for me. Although I have been urged by many, I'm not at the stage of writing an academic book to be used in University studies. So what will this book be about? It will be a book of stories, mining engineering related stories in particular. There are two great things about stories: - they are entertaining and make for easy reading - everyone chooses what they take away from that story, how it resonates with them and what their learning is. I've always lived by the mantra "in an ideal world I would learn from other people's mistakes, but failing that I need to make sure I at least learn from mine!" This book will present the opportunity for you to learn from other people's mistakes.......... It will be next year before it goes to print as I hopefully will have more time on my hands then to make it happen. But it won't just be my stories, I want to add stories from other miners around the world. Open pit or underground, hard rock or coal, any country, I don't care, it doesn't even specifically have to be mining engineering related, but it should provide the opportunity for learning to those in the geosciences field. So here is your opportunity to be part of the adventure. I'd like to start collecting stories for the book please, any time this year is fine. If you'd like to "audition" for one of the spots in the book (your story will be credited to you, unless you want to remain anonymous), then please send me your story for consideration. You can either record an audio version of it and send me that file, or you can type it into Word or similar and send me a document. And don't worry if your English is not perfect, mine isn't, and that's the whole thing about stories, they're more authentic in the voice of the storyteller. Criterion: - it must be about something that happened in the mining space - you must include at the end of the story what you learned from it - it can't be defamatory to any company or individual, unless they are completely anonymous - it must be in English If you'd like an example, here is one of my stories https://lnkd.in/dic2nn5D So get those thinking caps on if you'd like your name up in lights!! #crimesagainstmineplanning #asecondbook #miningengineering #mining
