California Department do Health Care has started utilizing APPs for Behavioral Health Services. This under the umbrella of CalHope that is funded by FEMA and a 4.6B initiative. This is divided into two APPs Brightlife Kids and Soluna and goes up to ages 25. I’m not thoroughly sure how these behavior health services are budgeted by California but know that our Governor has expressed frustration with the billions of tobacco tax money that is going to First5Californa not being able to be utilized in our general budget.(that’s another topic) Here is the information in the “first wave” of utilizing APPs for improving access to care and into the future. Obviously we have been struggling in the dark ages with our negligence to offer better access to care. Especially when we consider the fact that most practices in America depend on an answering machine or automated answering system that may or may not get you connected to a licensed provider. Instead they all have a pre-recorded IVR that states a disclaimer “If this is a medical emergency please hang up and call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room” Look where that has taken us, lol. Take a look at this, and if you are a nurse or a doctor, please get involved. #rpm #ccm #cocm #casemanagement #nurses #doctors #nurses2tech https://www.calhope.org
