I started off with my first client as an Inventory and data entry virtual assistant, and in my bid to keep it professional, I carried out my duty specifically as the Job description stated. (Don't too blame me, that was my first time??) But I noticed some disparities in payments, as I entered these payments. For instance, instead of 499,000 to be sent, I'll see 489,000. My job description wasn't geared towards the accounting aspect. I knew this will affect my Client's business, so I took it up to raise his attention towards it. And he was more than grateful for this act (I was tipped for that??). Most times we stick to the status quo of our job description, not minding if some areas are getting bad or done wrongly. In our minds, "that's not my department". Going above and beyond is needed no matter the department you find yourself. Because eventually if one side falls, the larger path also falls. This is just a friendly reminder to go above and beyond in carrying out your duties. Take your client's business as if it's yours. If it goes well, it'll definitely go well for you.
