How do you build a world-class acoustic testing facility in your basement? You'd have to ask the man himself, Dr Steve Taddei. After putting in hundreds of hours, Dr Taddei has converted his once very-average Illinois basement into a state-of-the-art hearing aid and earplug vetting lab that disrupts two global industries and helps consumers cut through the marketing hype to find the best products available on the market today (according to science). After site visits from multiple leading hearing aid manufacturers—with nothing but positive feedback—we are 100% confident in Dr Taddei's leadership in the lab, and frankly, we're in awe of his jaw-dropping handiwork producing this incredible space that is both functional and beautiful. He is a true renaissance man, and we are proud to have him on the team.

I am fascinated by Robert Greene's perspective discovering purpose. It makes me wonder... ?? How often are people's chosen life paths actually what they want? How heavily are our decisions impacted by external factors like culture, school, our upbringing and the opinions of friends and family? Considering Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences: - Linguistic Intelligence (word smart) - Logical-Mathematical Intelligence (number/reasoning smart) - Spatial Intelligence (picture smart) - Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence (body smart) - Musical Intelligence (music smart) - Interpersonal Intelligence (people smart) - Intrapersonal Intelligence (self-smart) - Naturalist intelligence (nature smart) ... are the decisions we make aligned with our strongest form of intelligence? https://lnkd.in/gxQVmVGP

Anchoring is a form of cognitive bias where we "anchor" our perspective based heavily on some form of initial information, thus influencing future judgments due to placing too much value on the initial anchor. In our daily lives, anchoring locks us into the past rather than tuning us into the present. It is essentially a fancy way of saying we're stuck in the past. Not only are we "stuck," but anchoring without awareness is also a surefire way to steal much of our (otherwise elevated) joy from life. This week's Catalyst Compass provides a few personal examples where I've fallen into the anchoring trap but you don't have to... https://conta.cc/3TPN4O0
