Health centers provide a range of preventive care services throughout one's lifespan, including screening for cancer. In 2023, health centers in HFP’s network ensured that more than 30,000 women were up to date on their breast cancer screening, more than 45,000 were screened for cervical cancer, and more than 50,000 adults, 45 and older, had completed a colorectal cancer screening. That’s a lot of cancer prevention! #NHCW24

As National Cancer Prevention Month comes to a close, PreciseDx remains committed to spotlighting the patient journey within the cancer care continuum. In 2024, projections indicate over 600K cancer-related deaths in the United States. How can we work to combat this? Emphasizing early detection through regular assessments is paramount. Similarly, with advancements in cancer risk of recurrence detection, there's also an opportunity to better support those who have previously been diagnosed with breast cancer. This not only benefits patients, but also helps alleviate the strain on an already overwhelmed healthcare industry. Through heightened awareness and proactive measures, we can continue to significantly diminish cancer's impact. Let's advocate for early detection, implement preventive strategies, and strive to improve outcomes for all. #CancerAwareness #HealthcareInnovation #PreventCancer #TissueIsTheIssue??

?? Let's bring awareness to Testicular Cancer this month. Understanding its two main tumor types, Nonseminomas, which tend to grow and spread rapidly, and Seminomas, which are more responsive to radiation treatment, is crucial. According to the National Cancer Institute, an estimated 9,190 men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer, and tragically, 470 will lose their lives to this disease. Recognizing symptoms early can lead to better outcomes: watch out for a lump in either testicle, a feeling of heaviness or swelling in the scrotum, lower back pain, swollen lymph nodes, and unexplained weight loss. Let's spread awareness, encourage regular self-examinations, and support those affected by testicular cancer. Early detection saves lives. ?? #TesticularCancerAwareness #MensHealth #CancerAwareness

Unveiling the Truth?? Myth 5—Breast cancer always presents with symptoms ?? Not so fast! Many individuals with breast cancer experience no noticeable symptoms, especially in early stages. This underscores the critical importance of regular screenings like mammograms, which are designed to detect cancer before any symptoms become apparent. By the time symptoms like lumps, changes in skin texture, or nipple discharge show, the cancer might have progressed further, making treatment more complex. Don’t wait for visible signs; proactive screenings are essential and can be life-saving. Stay vigilant and ensure regular checks regardless of symptoms, as early detection is the best defense against breast cancer. #BreastCancerAwareness #MythBusting #HealthForAll #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #BcanSolutions #LiveMoreLiveBetter

A survey on the uptake of cervical cancer screening services established that although 68% of eligible women were aware of cervical cancer screening, only 16% had undergone screening. This is a significant gap. We encourage all eligible women, those between the ages of 25 to 49 years, to visit any of our health facilities for cervical cancer screening. However, women outside this age group who request screening or for whom screening is recommended will not be denied services. We will also take the opportunity to screen you for breast cancer. Early detection is crucial for effective treatment and improved outcomes. #ZuiaCancer #CervicalCancer
