Today (April 2nd) is World Autism Awareness Day. Per the CDC the current autism rate in the US is 1 in 36 children with a 4:1 prevalence in boys. Having raised a child with autism we design our inclusive play environments to incorporate not just the sensory needs but the climbing needs of kids on the spectrum. Check out our LinkedIn page all this month to learn about designing playgrounds for children with differing needs and abilities. Since April is Autism Awareness month we will focus on the needs of these children in particular. #autismawarenessmonth #sensoryneeds #proprioceptiveinput #vestibularinput

How To Babysit An Autism Child! Children with autism think and process information different from other normal children; it is best to be aware of the needs of these children before you babysit them. It is best to first know from parents about the child’s communication and behavioral patterns and preferences. Try to find out what calms the child when upset and things that you should avoid doing. April is Autism Acceptance Month, also called Autism Awareness Month. Here are thoughts on acceptance and awareness from our Autism School teaching assistant Danielle: “Awareness is knowing about autism. Acceptance is really paying attention to each individual’s principles and needs. Understanding that is an important step to gaining acceptance.” We will be sharing our team’s insights on autism throughout this month. #AutismAwarenessMonth #AutismAcceptanceMonth

Today is World Autism Day, and we celebrate the 1 in 36 children who are on the autism spectrum. As we celebrate this day, let us all remember to be kind. As parents of a non-speaking child with autism, we know firsthand the unique joys and challenges of raising a child on the spectrum. Our son Blake, is the most amazing little boy, and we could not love him more. If you know him, you know his smile lights up the room. He is our proof love needs no words. Let us all take a moment today to learn more about autism. Education and understanding are key to building a more inclusive world for everyone. Check out the link below to learn more about autism and how you can help make a difference. Also, reach out to Tamika Lecheé Morales and I if you want to learn how your business can support employees on the spectrum and their caregivers. https://lnkd.in/g8ibV-rz And learn about the important work I do for The Autism Hero Project (AHP) www.autismheroproject.org #WorldAutismDay #AutismAwareness #BeKind #autismheroproject #AHP

April marks Autism Awareness Month – a time to come together to support individuals living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).? Let’s use this month to celebrate the progress of those facing ASD and recognise how far we have yet to go in providing adequate resources for them. History fact: The puzzle piece was first introduced in 1963 by The National Autistic Society as part of their logo. It symbolises?the complexity of ASDs and reminds us that we are all interconnected. Together we can create an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding for those living with autism and their families, together, we can make a difference. #autismspeaks #autismawareness

??April is Autism Awareness Month?? Spread the word, include everyone, and just accept people for who they are. It’s important to make sure people on the autism spectrum can live their lives to the fullest. Focus on learning, listening, talking, recognizing strengths, and advocating for both parents and individuals. Here are some ways to support Autism Acceptance Month: ? Educate yourself about autism. ? Engage with and listen to parents of autistic children. ? Have conversations with children about accepting individuals who are different. ? Focus on recognizing the strengths of people with autism rather than solely their challenges. ? Advocate for both parents and individuals affected by autism.
