???? Excited to share insights on the SESAR 3 ANTICIPATE project, the new member of our capacity on demand flagship. Our dedicated project team is focused on developing an innovative early handover mechanism, known as CAHEO, aimed at balancing workload between adjacent sectors during the execution phase. The clusterised flights on a defined airspace volume will be delegated to the adjacent sector to balance the workload and avoid the regulations. The team will take into account the existing SESAR concepts like DAC (Dynamic Airspace Configuration) and DAS (Dynamic Airspace Management) while they will start to develop their concept. Additionally,the project will get the benefit of the VC (Vertial Center) concept to to get the clustered flight data from the delegating ACC (Area Control Center) to the receiver one. We believe that these advancements will not only improve operational efficiency but also contribute to a safer and more sustainable aviation future. Aircraft SLD icing EU SENS4ICE project conclusions and way forward presented at SAE?AC-9C Aircraft Icing Technology Committee Meeting SENS4ICE project manager Carsten Schwarz (German Aerospace Center (DLR) DLR-Institut für Flugsystemtechnik) highlighted recent project results, conclusions and a perspective for the way forward for SLD (Supercooled Large Droplets) aircraft icing detection. Particularly the hybrid solution for aircraft icing detection may serve as a game changer for ensuring quick warnings combined with continuous ice accretion and flight performance monitoring. Time to demo our ATC simulation platform #ESCAPE for our SESAR3 ATC-TBO project partners at #EIH the EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub & discuss the objectives & scenarios to be validated in real-time simulations in 2025. ?? Last week the EUROCONTROL ATC-TBO project team had the pleasure of hosting at the #EIH #ATCOs from Polish Air Navigation Services Agency and ROMATSA, the Polish ???? & Romanian ???? #ANSPs, Airbus experts, and a pilot and a flight dispatcher from Swiss International Air Lines, for a hands-on demo of EUROCONTROL's ESCAPE ATC simulation platform. Together, we discussed the operational use cases, which focus on enhancing #CPDLC for trajectory-based operations (#TBO), incorporating features such as ? closed-loop clearances ? clearances in advance to optimise both lateral & vertical flight profiles ? maintaining synchronisation between air & ground trajectories. These discussions, tests & demos pave the way for the main joint real-time simulations scheduled in 2025. A big thankyou ?? to all who attended, as well as to our operational, validation and technical teams at the EIH for organising the session & preparing the platform. ?? More info: ATC-TBO is a SESAR Joint Undertaking industrial research project focusing on #TBO use cases that provide flexibility and address uncertainties in the tactical execution phase – i.e. within the coordination and separation horizon of the planner and executive controllers – for en-route and TMA operations. TBO shares a common plan, the data for a flight's trajectory across all phases of flight, with the aim of maximising traffic performance across the network, while at the same time meeting the needs of airspace users for individual flights. The MDAU-1553 and MDAU-1394 modules capture 100% of MIL-STD-1553 and IEEE-1394 data while enabling selected data to be transmitted via PCM telemetry.
