In order to successfully support someone in becoming regulated, we must first be able to regulate ourselves. Dr. Bruce Perry describes this as, "A dysregulated adult will never regulate a dysregulated child." His insights remind us of the importance of self-regulation in our work as speech pathologists and allied health professionals. When a person is dysregulated, they are in their survival brain state, making them unable to engage and learn. 600 respondents representing 100 #neurologicalconditions responded to the last survey of 2023 The NeuroLifeNow community continues to grow, and with that growth comes increased strength and influence. In this survey, 71% of people reported living with a non-neurological condition in addition to their neurological condition. This means that a significant number of people are juggling multiple #health concerns, which can complicate their healthcare journeys. The healthcare #system often struggles to meet the needs of these individuals, indicating a gap that must be addressed.
