Check out the 15th edition of the Pitt Policy Journal, including an article from myself, Myles C., Emmaline Rial, and Matthew Reynolds, ”Justice Jargon. An Interdisciplinary Approach to Analyzing Police Collective Bargaining Agreements for Improved Transparency and Accountability"! in that paper, we leverage OpenAI's Large Language Models for text classification in a low-N dataset that wouldn't be viable with traditional text classifiers.
The 15th Editon of the Pitt Policy Journal is here! I am happy to share that I contributed to two papers: “Battle Beyond Earth: American Commercial Space in the Face of Russian Satellite Threats” & “How and why does space power develop over time? A factor-based qualitative and quantitative approach to understanding global space power development.” Serving as Editor in Chief was incredibly eye opening & I am so proud to have grown student involvement in the journal, doubling its size from last year! Thank you to the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) for their consistent support of student research!

??The Concept for Implementing the Principles of Open Science has been officially approved in Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Why is it important to implement the principles of Open Science? Because one of its fundamental ideas is to make multilingual scientific knowledge open, accessible and usable by everyone. As a result, scientists will have free access to cutting-edge research, the ability to communicate, collaborate and carry out interdisciplinary international projects, and society will have a higher level of trust in research results, greater interest in the scientific sphere in general???? ????The main purpose of the concept for KNU is to improve the visibility and popularisation of the research and development results of the university's scientists in the information environment of open science, which will facilitate the integration of the university community into the global educational and scientific space. ?? University specialists are actively working on ways to put the principles of open science into practice. Currently ?? the institutional repository eKNUTSHIR has been launched (as of October it contains 8188 publications); ??provided is an open access to the university's research and innovation infrastructure for KNU staff and external users; ??created is an open resource for searching scientific and scientific-methodological publications by graduate students and employees of the university (https://lnkd.in/dH538AHx). And this is by no means an exhaustive list. ↖???↗?Our vector of movement for the future is the development of the research structure and the implementation of the principles of Open Science in all areas of the University's activities. We are working!

So proud to represent National University #NU presenting research on Academic Integrity with Dr. Ash Murray from the University of Queensland (seated second on my left in this conference photo) at the 23rd Annual Hawaii International Conference on Education (HICE) in Honolulu, HI this month. This research, carried out at the University of Queensland in Australia, investigated how lecturers and students perceived academic integrity, uncovering a significant divide—an “academic chasm”- in their understanding. Our work (recently published in the IJSPE) proposes a new qualitative model aimed at strengthening mutual understanding, ultimately offering fresh directions to promote academic integrity in higher education: https://lnkd.in/gJXXkz9G
