Currently on leave, I’ve set three important goals to achieve: self-care, family time, and giving back. Lately, I’ve felt like I haven’t given my all so I knew it was time for a break. In order to give my best, I need to ensure I achieve goals even when I am on a break 1. Self-care: I’m not someone who usually makes time for myself, but I realized it’s necessary. I’ve treated myself to getting my nails done and booked a hair appointment for Friday. Taking care of yourself is something we all need to prioritize, even when it feels indulgent. 2. Family time: My beautiful, resilient daughter is about to finish primary school, and I’m soaking up every moment with her. I want to make sure she shines and understands that everything she does in life has a purpose. I’ve also watched my 17-year-old son start working with my husband, where he’s valued, respected, and paid what he’s worth. This is what I want for all our children—not just those with privilege, but for everyone to have opportunities where they are truly valued. 3. Giving back: I’ve never given blood before, and honestly, I’m scared of needles. But if I can help make someone’s life better, I’ll face that fear. And lastly something I am truely passionate about Puddle Jumpers Incorporated I will be attending a camp where I’ll be cooking a meal for the children. For me, it’s about showing these kids that love can make a difference, that every child is worth something, and that family isn’t just who you’re related to, but who cares for you. We are on the last page of 2024. We might not have achieved all our to-dos, but let’s be grateful for the ones we have. It is an unending race with different individual endpoints and paces. No matter the stage you are in, be content and happy while doing the things you can. Happiness matters, and you are the only one who can give yourselves that great gift. Forgive, too, because by forgiving, you do yourself a great favour by being light. If you don't forgive, you become a prisoner of yourself. Remember people too, especially family. People make and break things. When other things fail, family is what you will have left. Learn to prioritize family. #happiness #believe
