We are constantly testing compostable products to see how well they break down in our machines. ?? Cruz Foam is a styrofoam substitute that we are testing to see if it can protect our home units during shipment. We also want to know if our customers can put it in their units to decompose. MegaReencle installed at Whiteman Airforce Base! ?? We were privileged to participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony to kick off the base’s composting program. We also got to join in the Airforce’s 77th anniversary celebration. Working with the folks at the Airforce has been nothing short of exceptional. They care about making a positive impact on their community by implementing sustainability measures that will improve the health and wellbeing of those they serve. They will be composting about 100lbs of food waste per day with their MegaReencle. The compost will be used by the local community (individuals, school ag program and farmers). Confused about food expiration dates? Approximately 20% of the food waste occurring in our homes is attributed to confusion over expiration dates. Here's a quick guide: ?? Best If Used By/Before: This is a quality assurance date, suggesting when the taste and quality of food are at their best. ?? Use By: This date is a recommendation for when you should eat the food. If you’re a day or two past it, check the quality, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s unsafe. ?? Sell By: This label is for retailers, indicating when the product should be sold or removed from the shelf. Typically, one-third of the product's shelf life remains after this date for you to enjoy at home.
